I'm still “missing” the computer with HostID: 5710189. But hear me out:
----------------------------------------Plugging that ID into my Devices URL (https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/ms/device/...ation.do?deviceId=XXXXXX), it shows me one of my "active Devices" but with different Host Name. If I remember correctly, this particular computer was renamed when I did a clean install of Windows 11 on it. The device’s old name (Host Name) was the standard “DESKTOP-XXXXX” name given by Win10. The new name is “MSI” (brand of the laptop). The "active Devices" tab seems to be showing this PC by its old Host Name. However, the "Results" tab shows the CORRECT Host Name (MSI). It's as if the "Results" tab uses the Host Name to show which WU came from which device, and then the "Devices" tab uses the Host ID without any "cross-check" with the Host Name. So right now, my “missing” HostID 5710189 is shown under the “Devices” tab with the OLD Host Name “DESKTOP-XXXXX”, but its results are shown under its NEW Host Name “MSI”. In Normal BOINC device settings, you’re able to merge similar PCs under a single device name fixing this confusion. |

Hello, Another quick update: My Windows computer is still missing from "My Devices", but from the "client_state.xml" file in my BOINC folder I was able to retrieve the Host ID for the WCG project: 8717880. I hope this can help adding this device to my profile, since this missing device is the one that has been crunching the most. Thank you for your support Hello, yet another very quick update: I'm still missing my device with HostID 8717880. My UserId is 1081982. I got this information from the "client_sate.xml" file and I verified that it is indeed for the WCG project. Recently the BOINC manager says in a Notice that I just got a "200 year badge", but when I click to go to my profile in WCG's website and see it, it doesn't show up. This is probably due to the fact that I got the badge with the results of the calculation of my missing device. I don't know if I could provide any additional information - maybe my client_state.xml file? Looking forward to hearing from someone from the support team. Best regards |

Best regards Are you sure you do not have another account for another user name ? For this user name it shows you have been on WCG since Aug. 2, 2023, so you have been a member on this account for 86 days. Unless you have some amazing machines, that is an incredibly short time to accumulate a 200 year badge. Cheers
Sgt. Joe

I have this problem also. I've installed WCG on a few Macbook Airs several days ago and they are not showing up in the Devices page HOWEVER, their work units are being processed in the Results page.
----------------------------------------What information do you need from me to get them to display in the Devices page? I am not a Mac person so PLEASE be specific on instructions for me to find you the info that you need. I just restarted WCG and looked in the Event Log and I see a "Computer ID" of 8784892. Is that it? If yes, then I will go to the other machines and submit the other Computer IDs in this thread. Thank you!!! [Edit 2 times, last edit by ericinboston at Oct 28, 2023 2:03:53 PM] |
