Re: Missing Devices in My Contribution

Hey, there!
Can u please help me to attach my host to my list of devices
the host-id:
<hostid>8710214</hostid>

I bought this machine specifically for cruncing24/7 and it saddens me that my results show up in the results tab, even accepting valid states and such, but it isn't showing on my overview page, nor do i get credit for my work done.

Thanks in advance!!

Re: Missing Devices in My Contribution

Oh sigh - seems like this is a lingering problem. For a member that decided to start re-contributing, it's weird that this hasn't been fixed yet.

I already got disappointed and removed the client from one of my other hosts after it wasn't updateing.

Go ahead and provide your manual fix so that I can get credit for the host I still have processing:

Re: Missing Devices in My Contribution

Hello! Can you link this device to my account? (just reinstalled BOINC and now it's broken)
It's not showing up on the contributions page nor giving me the points.
Device name: R5-3500U
Device ID: 8709762
Thanks!

Re: Missing Devices in My Contribution

After a few years offline, I decided to come back to the fold (pun intended!). However, I seem to be caught by the missing device issue - I've had an i9-12900 grinding away for a week now expecting the device and results data to at some point appear on my profile, but nothing as yet.

I work for Dell and had planned to add a couple of dual-socket R7625 and R6625 servers I have here in my test lab as well, so I can have them doing something useful instead of just sitting there, but if the app is so broken that new devices aren't showing up and statistics aren't getting reported correctly, I'm not sure I'm going to bother.

I'll give it another week on my workstation but if still not fixed I'll probably uninstall and try again in another 6-12 months when things are [hopefully] fixed.

Re: Missing Devices in My Contribution

Honest questions:

1. Why don't the WCG technical teams just browse this forum directly instead of relying on communications intern role to act as the intermediary? Seems more efficient to just read this forum directly and also post directly when issues are found.

2. I realize the importance of good communication, but since money is so extremely tight, why not use that budget towards a part-time WCG technical position who has the appropriate database and IBM systems expertise?

3. It makes more sense to me that instead of manually adding hundreds upon hundreds of device IDs to people's profiles to address the root cause of the issue.

4. Is there a way I can get in touch with Jurisica Labs to volunteer my expertise for free? I'm sure there are quite a few volunteers here with legitimate IT experience who would love to chip in for free. I'd love to take a look at some of this. Maybe UHN or the datacenter has a lot of bureaucratic red tape like most large organizations and would rather default to "No" and let a project suffer?

Edited to Add: Heck, I'm even willing to manually add the backlog of device IDs to profiles even though it's just a workaround at this point.
