I would expect some units if asking often enough.
----------------------------------------There are fewer units than normal so may not always be available. Setting auto-update on a timer would increase the odds. Once an hour would improve greatly as BOINC would auto retry after about 2 minutes then doubling each time until limit reached. To see what has been available check stats for last rolling 24 hours at WuProp: https://wuprop.boinc-af.org/active_projects.py Paul.

WUprop is not a good place for the number of WU's going out at any project. It only tells about the number of WU's the partcipants of WUprop have been getting, and extremely few of WCG participants (or participants of any BOINC project) are connected to WUprop.
----------------------------------------More accurate places to look, is at the URL for the individual WCG project. Even though these URL's on WCG is not totally accurate now, because of the ongoing problems here, they are much more accurate than WUprop, when it comes to the number of WU's going out to the different WCG projects. For the currently active projects here, use these URL's: OpenPandemics - COVID-19 History Africa Rainfall Project History Help Stop TB History Mapping Cancer Markers History Just compare the WUProp data for Mapping Cancer Markers. WUProp says Mapping Cancer Markers,10186 Workunits the last 24 hours, and the internal WCG URL for Mapping Cancer Markers, for October 22, says 575,300 Results returned. It's the same kind of discrepancy if you look at the data for the other WCG projects. So forget about WUProp when it comes to telling about number of WU's/day for any BOINC project. It only counts WU's for people connected to WUProp, and thats's clearly not many at all. It's much better to find the internal URL's on the BOINC projects you participate in. They will show data for all participants, and not only data for the few who participate in WUProp. [Edit 8 times, last edit by Grumpy Swede at Oct 23, 2022 3:01:44 PM] |

Correct, WuProp will not tell you absolute numbers as not all run it.
----------------------------------------It does give an indication of numbers increasing or decreasing, based on rolling 24 hour, at hourly intervals. Paul.

My queue is empty again. I've been running a short queue so as to share the few WUs we get. I can see from the stats (thanks Grumpy Swede for the links - I hadn't noticed that those pages had started working again) that there are plenty of WUs, but I'm not asking at the right time, or people are slurping them all up and hording.
I think that if possible instead of filling up the hopper and having all these errors and then having it run dry, that it might be better to release a smaller amount at random intervals. It would give any stuck downloads a chance to go though and finish. It would also allow the limited WUs in the hopper to last longer. There could also be a limit on how many WUs a user/computer could have in a day. To help spread out the WUs. I know this would make some people howl as they want their big custom systems to have all the WUs, but some computers are empty while WUs are waiting in your queue. This shouldn't be an issue once they get things working again at full speed (hopefully full speed is better than this). I think if they could get the ARP project moving that it is close enough to being finished that it would reduce the load on the system over all. I'm trying to have patience, but it is cold again and I can run the system all day, and I'd really like to help out WCG over any other Boinc project. |

The only thing that one might complain is that at times, some of the projects do not send WUs out, right now it seems to be all OPN1 and a few MCM1 resends sprinkled in, not OPNG or ARP1, and HST is as rare as hen's teeth anyway... What needs to be fixed at WCG in the first place is communication, that's for sure... Ralf PS: Here's the WUs send to ME in the last 10 days, numbers and runtime of returned WUs (as well as WCG points) date,points,results,runtimeInSeconds,shortNameOPNG1 WUs are here included in the OPN1 numbers, as it is the same scientific project |

Yesterday I noticed that the statistics for my country were running behind the statistics on my Overview page. I was hoping that the situation would improve today, but it didn't. As for me, there is a huge discrepancy in the member statistics (runtime, points, results) between Overview and the statistics presented by country. In Overview I have:
235:126:11:25:55 runtime, 2,583,359 results, 1,056,742,065 points, on the geography pages for the Netherlands I have only: 235:062:09:21:32 runtime, 2,582,179 results, 1,052,473,525 points. Personally, I am missing 64 days of runtime here. I am thinking that the unavailability of the website also impacted the availability of the database, so that some data didn't get updated. Yesterday (Saturday) at 11:00 UTC the website went offline. How are you going to have this repaired? |

@adriverhoef
The same discrepancy goes for "Teams" statistics. There are several days when I have more results and points, than what is shown for those days for my entire team. How they are going to backfill all statistics, well that is the question. They still have't begun backfilling ther results from when WCG shut down for the migration, and to when it started sending out tasks again. We'll see I guess.....or not |

@Greg_BE
There is a prompt in the profile, up near the top of the options, that asks to use CPU for research (or something like that). Not sure if answering NO will prevent the system from requesting non-GPU tasks. I usually leave that as a YES and select all options for GPU - the system is able to send me the appropriate GPU packets if any are available for my platform. I know how frustrating it is to want to process WU but not get any (or as many) as I hope for. I am at work at the moment and my computer resources is limited to my iPhone. |

You log should say something like: 2022-10-25 08:23:25 | World Community Grid | Requesting new tasks for CPU and AMD/ATI GPU Your log is missing the "CPU" word. Check your preferences to accept CPU work as well if you want WUs. However, right now (since 8 hours back or so at least) there are no WUs available it seems for CPU either. Probably some error on the WCG end or they are applying some fixes. Hopefully should be back up and running again soon with new tasks.
