Adri, Mike;
Thanks for the follow-ups. I remember the "grace day" -- as the client was still told the shorter deadline it meant that "Not Started by Deadline" tasks got killed 24 hours in advance of the deadline[1], hence reducing dramatically the number of No Reply tasks that actually sent in a valid result after the deadline. Surely a benefit overall (less redundant CPU cycles from extra valid tasks) but a source of confusion to some because the web site told of the extended deadline... Cheers - Al. [1] At first I was confused by the number of wingmen with errors almost exactly a day before the deadline, until I realized it was "Not Started by Deadline" (a condition some projects, including WCG, don't explicitly report). |

we expect to send more ARP1 WUs soon. I sent this to the tech team for them to look at. Does soon mean this week? None this weekend or for days before that. Paul.

Mike, No Sunday report this week????
----------------------------------------My last work unit was 10 Nov 22. So this past week I have done: 0 units total, 0.000 units per day. 0.000000 work units per available thread. But I have maxed out on the frustration factor. ![]() |

the data doesn't really support forecasting, does it?

Sunday Report .
11,942 units validated in 7 days so anaverage of 1,706.0 per day, half last week due to the lack of new work.. Assuming that a full generation 182 will be the last, there are 1,732,499 units still outstanding, so my forecast end date would now be 23 January 2026, however we are still coming out of testing so we should finish well before then. The definitions have remained unchanged. There ae main 40 Extremes and 21 Accelerated units, although the numbers in their generations are 212 & 5,267 due to lack of movement.. Mike |

The data is very intermittent but, since I started averaging over 5 weeks, the forecast has been more stable. The big unknown is how many crunchers will return once WCH is fully operational. I suspect that we have lost a lot for ever. Mike |

Thanks for the update Mike.
So far they can't give us enough WUs to keep us busy. Once they can, some of us will dust off other machines to add to the mix. Some who left will come back, some who never knew WCG before will join. We will worry about it once WCG and ARP are ready for more processing power. It will be a good problem to have :-) My main worry is that there are those who want to help, but can't due to the cost of electricity these days. With the world the way it is now, I feel like these projects are needed more than ever. |
