ARP seems to be back. I got one. It was tangled in the hopper of transfers but I was able to free it before the constipation in the bin starved me of other tasks. I was down to one task crunching and seven in the download mode. But I am happy to get it.

Yeah ! I came home to ARPs running on my machine! I had to retry a few times to get them to download, but I'm so happy to have ARPs again!

Yep, getting the downloads to finish is proving intensive for the left mouse button though I have gotten up to six running now with more sort of downloading.

My device-caches had so many tasks (i.e. OPN1 and MCM1) in their queues, that the swiftly downloaded (thanks to wcgresults -x in their crontabs) ARP1-tasks still haven't started running yet. One device is even so busy with OPN1- and MCM1-tasks that still no ARP1-tasks have turned up there.
Side note: One ARP1-task is - completely by chance - coupled with another task that was mentioned by Aperture_Science_Innovators (hi!): workunit 228993295 ARP1_0019365_133_0 Fedora Linux In Progress 2022-12-09T18:09:50 2022-12-15T18:09:50 |

Hi Cyclops,
Please note that all the ARP tasks I received have 3-day deadlines, instead of the normal 5-day deadlines, even though they all have -0 or -1 at the end of their identifiers, which should indicate that they are initial runs, not repeats. Thanks. |

3 days matches units in catchup after earlier failures.
----------------------------------------I have 2 from gen 134 with 6 day. See also below post from previous page of this thread. https://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewpostinthread?post=679243 Paul.

Hi Paul,
Don't units with previous failures always get suffixes higher than -1 ? |

There are 2 situations:
----------------------------------------1 a unit suffers a failure on 1 system so an additional unit is sent as _1, _2 etc. 2 a unit fails for all and requires re-issue with changed parameters. Several units suffered case 2 and had to be re-run from earlier generations. These are sent with shorter deadlines so they catch up with the rest. See also other posts in this thread and others. Paul.

I have received 20 WU during the evening of the 12-9. I to nurse downloadingthe large number of 42M files. Seemed to take forever. I don't recall this nursing required in the old WCG. Is this a known issue for the new WCG? TIA

The slow downloading is a known issue for WCG. They are getting more SSDs (faster than what they have) to see if that helps. If I understand the situation correctly.
