Just wrapped up our monthly call with the research team.
1. They're building more work units to add to the current supply of approximately 13 days. At this point the research team anticipates quite a bit more work to come. 2. The WCG tech team is examining about a dozen batches of work units that appear to have come back to us with some issues. (This is a very small percentage of the total output.) 3. The research team did a model quality assessment of roughly 50k batches that they've received back over the past few weeks. They are very pleased with the quality of the data they're receiving from the grid, even with longer models going out and coming back. 4. They're heads-down on getting their first paper ready for submission (with changes made due lots of additional data coming in from us), but have promised to create another project update by the end of the year. Current Work Unit Status: Available for Download: 4,130 batches In Progress: 8,345 (16,453,293 work units) Completed: 232,858 total - 9,451 in the last 30 days - average of 315 per day Estimated backlog: 13.1 days |

We wrapped up our call with the research team just now.
1. They're hoping to get their paper (mentioned in last month's update) submitted before the end of 2019. 2. They're also working on a project update for us; however, they also have some grant applications due that are taking precedence. 3. They're generating more work units--no ETA yet. We'll let everyone know if there's a gap between the time we run out of work and the time we receive new work. 4. They may be presenting at a Protein Data Bank conference in the US in February--more info to come if this happens. Current status of work units: Available for Download: 0 batches In Progress: 12,283 batches (22,322,341 work units) Completed: 240,624 batches - 8,370 batches in the last 30 days - average of 279 batches per day Estimated backlog: 0 days |

Just finished our monthly call with the MIP research team.
1. We let the researchers know that we're going through work units a little more quickly lately. (They asked why, and we let them know that we recently ended one project and another project is on pause, so volunteers are picking up more MIP work.) 2. They're working on a project update, as mentioned in the December update. They had grant applications to get finished first. 3. Work continues on the papers mentioned in previous updates. The first paper mentioned in the December update is undergoing a last round of edits before it is submitted. 4. They're presenting at University College London in February, and will include information about the project in their presentation. They may be presenting at other universities in the UK as well in February. Current status of work units: Available for Download: 2,079 batches In Progress: 12,232 batches (21,675,372 work units) Completed: 255,654 batches total - 13,291 batches in the last 30 days - average of 443 batches per day Estimated backlog: 4.7 days |
