And still no word on when their defective software will be fixed. MIP wastes so much electricity it's not funny, and Rosetta as well. Still the same problem?! UPS! ![]() |

Here's what we discussed during our call with the research team today.
1. Research team member Bryn Taylor will be defending her dissertation shortly (remotely instead of in person due to shelter-in-place orders in her state). We wish her the best of luck! 2. There's currently a 30+ day backlog of work for the project on our servers. 3. They're doing more in-depth analyses on the data they're getting from WCG, and mentioned that the quality of the data they're getting back from us compares favorably to other methods. This is another layer of confirmation that the results they're seeing from us are valid. 4. They had planned to meet last month in person in New York City to have an MIP researchers meeting. Since that was not possible, they instead organized a three-day video conference between the researchers in New Zealand, Poland, and the US. They'll send us a short update about that as soon as they can. 5. They're waiting to hear back on one paper that has been submitted for review to a publication, and are almost ready to start submitting another. Current status of work units: Available for Download: 7,645 batches In Progress: 7,053 batches (21,346,582 work units) Completed: 282,723 batches - 6,723 batches in the last 30 days - average of 224 batches per day Estimated backlog: 34 days |

Thanks, Caiti. Very positive (sorry, shouldn't use that word these days).

If you click on research at the top of this page and then click on 'Learn More' on any of the projects, then on the side Tab for Research Participants, you will be able to find out who is working on each project. Mike |

Thanks Mike. I wasn't able to find any mention of New Zealand. If you are able to point out to me please feel free to do so

Here's what we discussed during our call with the research team today.
1. Bryn Taylor successfully defended her PhD thesis a few weeks ago. Congratulations, Dr. Taylor! 2. They're almost done with a short project update, which will contain a link to a pre-print of their first paper. We'll post the update and link as soon as they're finalized. The paper hasn't yet been accepted for publication in a journal. 3. They're working on two additional papers--currently in the data analysis stage on both. 4. As mentioned last month, they're continuing to work on model quality assessments to help them determine the quality of the data they're receiving from us. So far, they're getting expected results 75-80% of the time. Now they're looking into how to address the remaining 20-25%. Current status of work units: Available for Download: 5,416 batches In Progress: 8,436 batches (17,513,030 work units) Completed: 28,7891 batches - 5,469 batches in the last 30 days - average of 182 batches per day Estimated backlog: 29 days |

The project has been running since 2017 and now they discover a quarter of the work units are below expectations?
Well, this is frustrating. |
