Re: Windows 10

In Microsoft's almighty attitude, they have provided an Update Auto-Boot postpone timeframe, but one can't set it to longer than 8 hours. As this unstoppable booting came up in the Beta forum, this is a hack to stop them hapening middle of a long section of CEP2: http://superuser.com/questions/957267/how-to-...tic-reboots-in-windows-10

Use at own peril!

Re: Windows 10

My major concerns regarding Windows 10 are not especially focused on WCG participation but on industrial usage of Windows 10, e.g.:
- HMI respectively supervision for process control systems
- Control of laboratory equipment (HPLC, MS, ...)
What M$ is currently doing is absolutely understandable from an industry perspective.
I would really appreciate that equipment and industrial solution developers will start to reconsider if Windows does represent an acceptable industry-compliant platform for the future.
Don't forget, industrial applications are usually operated for many years resp. decades.
Rolling release, forced updates are not an option.
Cheers,
Yves
