biggrin Re: Windows 10

So, I take it You are saying that Win10 is Not an OS to Run BOIC with? Please Confirm or Correct ~ that impression!

Also, FYI, the Reason I was down was to do an Upgrade to Win10. However, it did Not Work on My System. Win7 Update were needed & were accomplished. It caused me to Miss the Free Upgrade which will now cost me to get it. I am putting that Off for the foreseeable future. I just upgrade the hardware with more RAM, New Video Board & New Power Supply! System is running MUCH Better due to ALL of this. I'm Good for Now. Thanks, Ann

Re: Windows 10

I'm not saying Win 10 is not an OS to run BOINC on. IMHO it's no more than glorified spyware and I personally would not run it under any circumstances. My last remaining machine that runs windows full time is XP. I have a Win 7 machine to use for stuff that is no longer supported by XP but it's off most of the time.

Re: Windows 10

Just in case, lose 26GB of occupied disk-space after the W10 Anniversary update: http://betanews.com/2016/08/03/free-up-hard-d...ws-10-anniversary-update/

And a point of warning... there the 30 day roll-back where you can still go back to W8 or W7... only do this if you're so sure:
A word of warning however, these files are used to roll back your system to a previous installation of Windows and removing them takes away that option. If, however, you intend to stick with Windows 10 (and remember, the Anniversary Update is mandatory), they serve little use and so can be cleared out without problem.

Re: Windows 10

A fix for when your Cartona disappears after installing the Anniversay release (mine says and has said since first W10 installation "Cortana is not available in your region", a linguistic issue I suppose)

That can be fixed, if you assign to use Cortana on English! ;)

Works in Croatia...

Not so vise to let an OS what reached end of life out on Internet. XP never ever gonna get an update so cyber crimes can 24 hour, 265 days a year for a hole life to find weaknesses the know never gonna get fixed even after they are known.

Why not a modern OS what gets updates? There is some what runs great on leagacy hardware and are free to use.
