Progress of the project

From the start is was 200 million genomes needed to be compared.

Do anyone know how many genomes are compared now?

To reread the wording, visit https://secure.worldcommunitygrid.org/research/ugm1/details.do .
Based on progress percent on the research page and years computed so far, it looks like we'll be doing nearer to 57K years CPU time, not the 40K initial estimate.

Re: Progress of the project

Purely mathematical against steady percent increase reported, read previous posts, there's about 44K batches instead of 20K as mentioned by technicians, originally noted that each batch holding 1 million genes to compare. Whether there actually are more genes or the distribution has been spread out over more batches has not been confirmed.

Re: Progress of the project

See too the latest update in the Performance Chart thread, which right bottom tracks the percentage progress and the step changes [when the data volume shows apparent step-changes].

I received some more work this morning and in the space of the above post which was roughly 16 hours ago we have increased by 16 batches we are now working through 12,773. Fairly impressive I say. Roughly a batch an hour
