We are still at about 1.35 more months (approx. 41 days)of additional crunching at the current recent run rate. My Dashboard now makes it less than 30 days for MCM1... will we get a warning? [Doubt it, for more than 1 reason ;] |

Okay SekeRob, you're alluding to something. Which of the following do you think is most likely?
A. There's another year of work, and the scientists are announcing it at the last minute again for dramatic effect? B. The server status page is finally responsive and reflective of the announced work totals, so thirty day announcements are no longer necessary? C. They're going to double back and do that skipped batch of work. Even then, that work won't last too long, ya. I'm totally psyched for the prospect that the massive amount of crunching power that MCM is using gets directed, at least for a while, on wrapping up the smaller projects. |

If the first part of A does not apply, then I think they will be psyched at WCG (Unless there's a stealth development of a new project in well advanced pre-beta state), as all other active sciences will suddenly become 'Limited' too
---------------------------------------- The skipped 125 or so batches, rather, those missing in action are maybe good for part of a ![]() [Edit 2 times, last edit by SekeRob* at Sep 12, 2016 6:03:49 PM] |

By my reckoning, 125 batches would last about 5 days or so (at the present speed of processing).
----------------------------------------My Dashboard now makes it less than 30 days for MCM1... will we get a warning? [Doubt it, for more than 1 reason ;] We are very close in our estimations. As of Sept. 4 I estimate 33 more days, so by today, Sept 6, I estimate 31 days. Do the scientists have more WU 's in the hopper ? So far no one is saying or even giving any clues. Who knows ? Wait and see. Cheers

The following figures are based on a total number of work units of 530,000,000 from cubes (project scientist) with the addition of Seippel (WCG tech).
----------------------------------------Hello all, We've received an update on the estimate batch count from the researchers that has added another 9000 batches making the new estimate 26,500 batches. However, this is only an estimate (a lot can change in the almost one year it will take to complete these new batches). Also, the progress bar on the webpage has been updated accordingly. Thanks, Seippel Last 30 day average results:483,819 Estimated end date using 30 day average: October 6, 2016 Percent Complete:96.95823% The average length of a WU is currently running about 3.93 hours, slightly shorter than last week, and trending slightly down for the week. The trend line for the past few weeks has been for the workunits to be ever so slightly shorter on average and this week they were slightly shorter. Still have not seen any of the batches from 122278 to 122402. The ovarian units started with 122403 as the lowest number. My latest batch number was 125755 which would give about 169 batches for the week. Therefore, by this measure the project is about 96.7% complete. (Take this number with a large grain of salt.). We are still at about 1.11 more months (approx. 33 days)of additional crunching at the current recent run rate. The projected completion date has held steady all week since the previous week. Production increased a bit this past week going from about 3.3 million WU's to 3.45 million WU's completed. During this past week the time devoted to MCM1 was just over an average of 227 years per day, compared to 218 years per day the previous week. Getting back to about 3.5 million work units or more per week will move that completion date closer. Remember, the situation can change at any time and these are only estimates. Cheers
Sgt. Joe

Made it with only 18d over-spill on 20y D badge (which is a 1d extra WUs on my private grid)...much less than UGM with a 40d over-spill (which was a 3d extra WUs on my private grid)!
----------------------------------------Could say a lesson learned...off to hunt some other badges! Have fun in this project & see you others! Thanks again Sgt.Joe for all you efforts & good reports! ;) ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by KLiK at Sep 9, 2016 1:31:12 PM] |

The 30 days warning has stayed absent, but then it's only Monday. ![]() |

...or there is more work expected for other targets originally announced.
