I am going for my 100yr badge and am about 21 years short of it. As things stand, I'll need about 42 days to complete it.
Should I just switch to another project? All the estimates that you guys have indicate I won't be able to do it, although we have not had a 30 day warning |

vcd683s, if you're THAT close, I'd go for it - as, even after the 30 day announcement has been made, there'll be a short time afterwards, "mopping up" all the unreturned work.
----------------------------------------Don't forget, you can buffer work up as well - and that should certainly help you reach such a signifcant level. ![]() |

Ok. I'll stick to it and hope (fingers crossed) that I can make it. At any rate, processed work units are never a waste are they! And I have thought about buffering like hell too! Hopefully I won't have to though.
Dayle, I am running quite a lot of firepower. My main rigs are 3 dual xeon rigs, with 80,48 and 48 threads respectively. Then I have a number of laptops running too. If everything is running properly, I should get a minimum of 198 days/day for MCM. So, should do it about 38 days but giving myself 3 days of leeway for unexepected stuff |

The following figures are based on a total number of work units of 530,000,000 from cubes (project scientist) with the addition of Seippel (WCG tech).
----------------------------------------Hello all, We've received an update on the estimate batch count from the researchers that has added another 9000 batches making the new estimate 26,500 batches. However, this is only an estimate (a lot can change in the almost one year it will take to complete these new batches). Also, the progress bar on the webpage has been updated accordingly. Thanks, Seippel Last 30 day average results:488,121Estimated end date using 30 day average: October 5, 2016 Percent Complete:97.60829% The average length of a WU is currently running about 3.98 hours, slightly longer than last week, and trending steady around the 4 hour mark. The trend line for the past few weeks has been for the workunits to be ever so slightly shorter on average and this week they were slightly longer. Still have not seen any of the batches from 122278 to 122402. The ovarian units started with 122403 as the lowest number. My latest batch number was 125926 which would give about 171 batches for the week. Therefore, by this measure the project is about 97.4% complete. (Take this number with a large grain of salt.). We are still at about .87 more months (approx. 26 days)of additional crunching at the current recent run rate. The projected completion date has held steady all week since the previous week just squeaking in a day sooner.. Production decreased a tiny bit this past week going from about 3.45 million WU's to 3.445 million WU's completed. During this past week the time devoted to MCM1 was just over an average of 229 years per day, compared to 227 years per day the previous week. Getting back to about 3.5 million work units or more per week will move that completion date closer. Remember, the situation can change at any time and these are only estimates. Cheers

Estimated end date using 30 day average: October 5, 2016 During this past week the time devoted to MCM1 was just over an average of 229 years per day, Sgt.Joe, Thanks for all the effort you have put into tracking this project for us. It will be very interesting to see where the WCG sends those 229 years of daily runtime, and what affect that will have on the estimated end dates of the other projects. |
