Re: New Beta Test starting Oct 31, 2013 [Issues Thread]

Three so far on my quad that say 8 hours. Two on the C2D that say 11.5 hours. I'll have to see about pushing them up to the top in the morning.

Before I get some rest.

There has been the question if this beta test has GPU work units. Short answer is No.

Thanks,
-Uplinger

Re: New Beta Test starting Oct 31, 2013 [Issues Thread]

Is this an initial beta for the new project or THE beta for the new project?

Re: New Beta Test starting Oct 31, 2013 [Issues Thread]

Got about 20 of them, estimated duration ~7-9 hrs depending on machine. Checkpoints occur on some machines after ~1 hr, on others after ~25 mins.
Will be closely monitoring the progress...

Update:
9999985_0145_1 is stuck at 0.5% after 1 hour. attempted suspend/resume task.

Re: New Beta Test starting Oct 31, 2013 [Issues Thread]

BETA_ BETA_ 9999986_ 0251_ 1-- Valid 31/10/13 06:42:32 31/10/13 07:14:01 0.25 / 0.27 8.7 / 7.8
BETA_ BETA_ 9999984_ 0433_ 1-- Pending Validation 31/10/13 06:12:00 31/10/13 06:39:25 0.01 / 0.44 14.0 / 0.0

I have some results that doesn't want to use CPU (<1%) or stuck but pausing them then resume seems to open the flood gates.

Edit: those results have been running for about 50mins.

Re: New Beta Test starting Oct 31, 2013 [Issues Thread]

Funny: Got one with 0.500% progress after 45 minutes and 20.000% progress 10 minutes later.

Re: New Beta Test starting Oct 31, 2013 [Issues Thread]

Anyone else having very low cpu/wall efficiency (1.40 .. 15 %)? I'm quite positive it's my computer though, it's hardware is a mess. Though haven't seen so poor values on this machine for WCG or other platforms.
Had unloaded RAM (Laim off and on again) before starting them. Maybe restart.

edit: It's a GPU task that slowed them down. After suspending it, the Betas run fine.

Re: New Beta Test starting Oct 31, 2013 [Issues Thread]

I have rebooted the whole machine with stuck WU and even though the BETA tasks had checkpoints, they seem to start from scratch (now all at 0.5%). Update - jumped from 0.5% to 35-45% after a few minutes.
CPU Utilization OK - 95% minimum.

Re: New Beta Test starting Oct 31, 2013 [Issues Thread]

Glad you were able to catch one!

Depends on your system. The estimate could be off. In our internal tests, I believe the average was around 5 hours. But on some machines they did get up to 10 hours.

Thanks,
-Uplinger
