I've had 1 error so far, out of 7 (1 left to return)..
----------------------------------------BETA_ BETA_ 9999987_ 0120_ 2-- <core_client_version>7.0.42</core_client_version> <![CDATA[ <stderr_txt> Commandline = projects/www.worldcommunitygrid.org/wcgrid_beta17_7.19_windows_x86_64 -SettingsFile BETA_9999987_0120.txt -DatabaseFile dataset-GDS2771-v1.txt Initializing wcg_learn_limit = 250000 Running [13:06:34]: Computing pass 0 [14:22:04]: Computing pass 1 Run complete, CPU time: 2377.346039 15:29:06 (6944): called boinc_finish </stderr_txt> <message> upload failure: <file_xfer_error> <file_name>BETA_BETA_9999987_0120_2_0</file_name> <error_code>-131</error_code> </file_xfer_error> </message> ]]> But on most of those that did return as Valid, the difference between CPU Time & Elapsed Time is of some concern.. 0.58 / 2.80 (I7 3770k). 0.58 / 3.43 (I7 3770k). 0.58 / 1.19 (I7 3770k). 1.17 / 4.32 (I7 870). 1.77 / 1.78 (I7 3770k). All are Win 7 Pro 64bit |

Will CEP2v2 do that too, for the 6700 files that get unzipped into the slots? At this point no. I will bring that up with the researchers, but originally we were told this zip file would change, thus making it unzip once to the projects directory not a possibility. The reason for the zip file is to help the xml that would be required for the BOINC client to keep track of, thus slowing the agent down. But again, a suggestion for CEP2, I will bring it up with them and the tech team. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Just got a resend on WU where user got the 131 error on the results file. Is this worth crunching? IE, did the parm get changed or will I just run into the same error? I'm the _2: BETA_ BETA_ 9999986_ 0014_ 2-- - In Progress 10/31/13 16:18:13 11/10/13 16:18:13 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 BETA_ BETA_ 9999986_ 0014_ 0-- 719 Error 10/31/13 06:50:51 10/31/13 16:18:06 2.41 61.2 / 0.0 BETA_ BETA_ 9999986_ 0014_ 1-- - In Progress 10/31/13 06:50:49 11/10/13 06:50:49 0.00 0.0 / 0.0 Chances are, you will have the same error as the user. We are however will be granting credit for these errors. Thanks, -Uplinger |

Uplinger: I am running the security package included in the services of my internet provider: Rogers Communications (Canada) I believe is McAfee. Can you see if McAfee is blocking the executable or if you can exclude the data directory from McAfee's wrath? Thanks, -Uplinger |

@Jim1348 (and for everyone else)
----------------------------------------What I noticed, was that the checkpoints are few and far between (2-3 hours), running all four of them together was very inefficient (e.g., elapsed time 7:34:10, CPU time 3:41:10) on a machine that wasn't really being used other than for crunching, and, as reported by others, the output file appears too large for the set parameters; That is curious. Running a single work unit was very efficient on my E8400, at 98.49% CPU usage. BETA_BETA_9999986_0205_2 03:07:39 (03:04:49) 98.49 Possibly this is one of those projects like CEP2 that has high I/O requirements? In that case, running several at once can definitely impact the CPU efficiency. If I'm fortunate to get some more Beta WU's (and I'm around to manage the process), I'll only allow 1 Beta WU to run on it's own - so that I can do a very simple compare on my machine against that of running 4 concurrent. The timings of the four that started and ran together, were as follows; BETA_BETA_9999986_0580_0 07:34:10 (03:41:10) |

Just spotted this in the log:
----------------------------------------31/10/2013 19:13:24 | World Community Grid | Task BETA_BETA_9999984_0096_2 exited with zero status but no 'finished' file

Uplinger;
----------------------------------------I never had a problem with any Betas or any project tasks. I am going to assume something else is wrong so I am aborting the Betas now to see if they run somewhere else and I can continue crunching something else. |
