My machine managed to grab 4 of them (I ran them all together), during which, I restarted BOINC.

What I noticed, was that the checkpoints are few and far between (2-3 hours), running all four of them together was very inefficient (e.g., elapsed time 7:34:10, CPU time 3:41:10) on a machine that wasn't really being used other than for crunching, and, as reported by others, the output file appears too large for the set parameters;

That is curious. Running a single work unit was very efficient on my E8400, at 98.49% CPU usage.

Possibly this is one of those projects like CEP2 that has high I/O requirements? In that case, running several at once can definitely impact the CPU efficiency.

@Jim [just back from Sud-Tirol] Some, far from all incur that. My octo so far seems to run them all at 99+% efficiency, but at conclusion appears to loose a bunch of the CPU time (was that not a CEP2 issue, where mine [CEP2] on the Linux machine happily 'looses' 30-40 minutes between completion of job#2 and 3), each and every job. It does not have this under W7-64.

Here's a filtered list from, yes, BOINCTasks.... some as poorly as 28% efficiency (value at end, just before 'Reported:'

Interesting side observation about the earlier noted 31MB file, found in the task slots a small file which x-links back to that big file in the projects folder i.e. here the solution was applied to only have 1 copy opposed to CEP2 which copies all work and reference files to the job slots:

Will CEP2v2 do that too, for the 6700 files that get unzipped into the slots?

I'm fairly sure only resends will come through.
About 10 hours ago I tried to get some betas and I didn't get any.

Are you running Windows?

If so please check to see if your antivirus/security software is allowing it to run.

Also, what type of security software do you run on your computer?

Currently all original copies of BETA work units have been sent out. They went out from about 1am - 2:30 am Central Time zone. Which if I remember correctly, is 700-830 UTC

Based off some of the results we will be having another Beta test with new work units, but at this point we do not have those.
