Am also very glad I shopped around, since I just found a package deal for the Logitech G29 and shifter for £199.99! ![]() I only got the shifter for Historical cars and flappy paddles for everything else. It adds to the realism to change gear. In most historical cars you will need to double-d-clutch and give a blip of the accelerator to change gear. ![]() |

Good afternoon all - Just touching base to let you know that I am alive and well in Bolivia. Total lockdown here with jail and hefty fines for those caught outside on other than their number day. Saturday and Sunday are confined to base for all but emergency services. Because of my age I am not allowed out at all - not even as a passenger in a taxi. In practise I have to go supermarket shopping every Monday (or Thursday if I use my passport number) so I have to be careful where I drive and park. Santa Cruz carries the majority of COVID cases but at least, in a closed condo, we are well isolated here.

Great to hear from you Rod, I've been watching the numbers shooting up over there and it's looking really worrying especially in Brazil, the leadership seem to have gone completely off the rails. Take good care.
cheers,

----------------------------------------Thargor, I think I probably got the last g29 in NI at the time, had to drive 30 miles to get it. Wife was not impressed but glad I did. ![]() |

You can always dine on peacock if society breaks down. I wish we had jail and hefty fines here, particularly for those who go on day trips to well-known northern beauty spots or drive 250 miles whilst knowingly infectious ![]()

Today I tried really hard on Assetto Corsa Competizione, driving an Aston Martin Vantage, for 8 laps around Brands Hatch. I was awful, going off the track left right and center, so I stopped for a while, then I did 3 laps and was just as dreadful, but then everything clicked into place and did a clean lap in 1:35 and the next lap in 1:32, still made some mistakes so there is lots of room for improvement.
----------------------------------------Very happy to start getting it under control. ![]() |

Well, that's the sim-racing frame (and extra bolts) ordered and on its way, predicted delivery-date any time between June 4th to 16th.
----------------------------------------Am holding fire a bit on the wheel/pedals, for now, as Amazon seem to keep flip-flopping between two distinctly different prices (and it's currently on the higher of the two), perhaps due to stock levels regularly re-filling. That's Prime-qualified, though, so can do next-day delivery on it if/when it goes back to the lower price again (wouldn't be as bothered if it was just £5 or so, but the difference between higher and lower prices is closer to £50). I will be racing soon (hopefully)! ![]() ![]() |

I got my new pc setup and it a beast, i have been tweaking the setup and think i have found the sweat spot i like. i have it runnung at 4ghz with all the auto over clocking stuff disabled and i have tweaked the voltages down from default (they are high by default) which dropped the temps down by about 10 degrees and its still stable and a plus is the energy usage has come down to match what my old system was but now does a lot more work.
----------------------------------------end result is the whole system uses about 370 watts at the wall on full load (same as previous system), temps around 68-70 degrees and a cinebench R20 score of 7058 vs 1402 for previous system. it is doing OPN in ~1h45m ![]() Full size image: https://www.websters-computers.com/images/benchmark.jpg ---------------------------------------- [Edit 3 times, last edit by unsmurf at May 31, 2020 1:17:48 PM] |
