I've some openpandemics units! Best of luck. I am going to ramp up production to get a few of these underway.

Morning All, been a while, hope you're all staying safe. You too Richard, Pop in more often Any new hardware projects on the horizon? I've some openpandemics units! Me too, they're not too memory hungry either so I've switched my goldfish to those, it's just chewing through some ARP's at the moment. Looks like they take 3hours to complete on that box, consume only 100mb whilst running and generate ~75points per task.
cheers,

Yep. Load of units for me too. Mine are taking about 1:50 on my 3900X with 24 threads running, and I'm getting an average of 70-75 points per unit. I'm not expecting to be the first in the team to bag a badge!

I won't be the first to get a badge either, chugging through a dozen ARP units, at about 18hrs each.

I won't be the first to get a badge either, chugging through a dozen ARP units, at about 18hrs each. You're too modest. At least you got in on Day 1 with a bronze. I was slightly late starting and now have about 6 days credited and about 10 days pending. Close but no cigar. Congratulations have to go to mac1 for getting a silver badge. and a mention to reduk for another bronze.

Bit surprised I got bronze, still doing 2 ARP.

Hi all, hope everyone's doing OK! My blood-pressure seems to slowly be coming down still, and the headaches I'm getting have slightly eased up, so heading in the right direction there (thankfully).
----------------------------------------After some tinkering, finally managed to get remote-control of my main remote-server working via my main PC at home (can't remember why I couldn't get it to work last time), so now have much easier control of work-units. Trying to abort 400 work-units to get straight onto COVID-19 units via a mobile phone client (that you can only adjust one unit at a time) was not going to happen. Have now pulled down a large number of COVID-19 work-units to my server, and it's ploughing nicely through them - looks to be around 4.5 hours per unit, judging by the ones that have now finished (edited from 3.5 hours since it took longer than expected to complete them). ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Thargor at May 16, 2020 10:41:12 AM] |

That's great news Thargor! Constant headaches must be tough, my sympathies there and I hope it continues to improve back to normality. On the new WU's I seem to have some variation in times now, some are 3hours and some as long as 6 perhaps related to my servers memory constraints or maybe they vary in size anyway. Bit surprised I got bronze, still doing 2 ARP. Mac1, Straight to silver shows just how much you work you can go through. Wow!, just Wow! Congratulations have to go to mac1 for getting a silver badge. and a mention to reduk for another bronze. Thanks guys, TBH I just scraped over the line but with ARP's getting completed (just 4 left) and freeing up memory I'm hoping to strike gold today. I see some of the guys are already past Emerald... CRIKEY!
cheers,

That's great news Thargor! Constant headaches must be tough, my sympathies there and I hope it continues to improve back to normality. It potentially didn't help that my blood-pressure before Christmas was up at 167/97, which my GP was a tiny bit concerned about. With a little medicinal assistance, over the last few months, it's now averaging around the 125/83 mark - still a little high, but a lot better than it was and heading steadily in the right direction, and the headaches appear to have eased a bit with the drop. Still don't know whether it was a sole-cause or just a contributing factor (or completely unrelated), but I'll take the small win for now! ![]() ![]() |
