Re: Good morning everyone

Le Mans weekend is upon us. Looks like it will be another close race.
My friend David and I will be going to next years race, excited already!

Can Toyota (aka Team Alonso) snatch defeat from the jaws of victory again - we'll see!

Re: Good morning everyone

Thanks Rod and Steve, Dropped in here to see what was going on. It is a pity the powers that be have interfered with the stats, Hope it doesn't put people off.
Sorry to say but my missus is still not at all well. She has cancer and is far too frail to be operated on or undergo chemotherapy. We go back to hospital next week to see if anything more can be done...

I am sorry to hear this news, you are both in my thoughts & prayers.

Well, they are the only hybrid LMP1 car this year so they can saunter around the track and still win it, they have a 2 lap lead with just over 16hrs to go. GT Pro is where this year's race is, fantastic driving from all teams, there literally is a few feet between them. GT Pro has always been my favourite class.
Corvette, Porsche, BMW, Ford and Ferrari racing neck and neck, love it.
Aston Martin are out classed this year, but there is a new car for 2019.

Good morning all

No real drama at Le Mans for Toyota LMP1s then (apart from speeding penalties and accusations of reverse in the pits). Saw lots of footage of the 'Pink Pig' which appeared to be a class act - didn't see much of the Rothmans livery though (anti cigarette lobby?)

Re: Good morning everyone

Speeding in the pit lane, rookie mistake really, I saw the reverse, he was pushed back. The pink pig was a class above, utterly reliable. Fantastic first 12 hrs of racing before they got ahead.

Morning all,

New skylake rig should get its first full day today, so far all I can tell so far is it pulls 352watts from the wall. That sounds a lot but it's less than 4 Watts per thread (96 threads) just hope it's doing something useful with them. smile

Re: Good morning everyone

Hi everyone.

I've decided to take my stats server offline. It hasn't updated for several weeks thanks to IBM's lawyers, so there's not much point. That means the signature graphics will disappear too, so please update your signatures.

If they ever get round to giving back data access I may reinstate it. Alternatively, I might write something completely new that only accesses your personal data, for anyone who is prepared to divulge username and password. Maybe showing progress towards badges or something.

To be honest, I'm still pretty peeved about this. However, it suits me to shut this server down, because I've just sold my house and keeping my mail and web stuff going with only one static IP address, limited physical access, and infrequent backups is quite a worry. This is one less thing to think about.

It's been fun, and thank you all for your encouragement and support.

Dave a great big thank you for all that you have done since johnniebuk dropped the stats. I do hope that you can reinstate them in the future. I for one would be glad to share my BOINC password with you. I hope that your house move goes OK It is reckoned to be as stressful as divorce!

Re: Good morning everyone

Dave,

A big thank-you from me too. I shall miss your wonderful stats, but I totally understand your double set of reasons.

Fingers crossed there'll be a resolution from lawyers soon and I, for one, would like to see it reinstated if and when when you have the stamina. It gave me a lot of incentive to keep my numbers as hight as I could within the constraints available to me. Running "blind" is nowhere near as much fun! And I think the signature was a good recruiting tool for the team, too.

All the best!
