My remote server did one job and now it's just sitting there not doing anything and I don't really understand why since it's not telling me that there's any problems Mufflin... have you got the box ticked on the WCG website that says "If there is no work available for the project(s) I have selected above, please send me work from another project." ? Also, have a look in the Event Log (on the Tools menu in the BOINC/WCG client). That will usually say if there is no work available, and why. Work is definitely available because my PC is doing the same projects and getting tons of work. I might have messed up the settings though. ![]() |

You haven't suspended it have you?
If you have simple view, selecting the middle button at the bottom will suspend work, if it shows resume then select it to cancel the suspension Best to have enhanced view. selecting tools/computing preferences (assuming there is one for the server) brings up a dialog screen if you select clear at top right, it will use your default values. Hope this helps. |

Good evening all,
----------------------------------------Doing lots of rendering at the moment so wcg output is dismal. Glad the team is picking up the slack. Well done everyone.

Morning all, and welcome to the team, Muffin!
----------------------------------------Looks like my server has 56 pages of "In Progress" units, so that should be enough of a cache to get me through the migration-downtime. ![]() |

I would hope there is a command that is the equivalent of viewing the Event Log in the client manager, as to what that would be I don't know. Does anybody else use command line for crunching? |

I'm running it command line, it's a remote server If it's Linux (and is set up kinda standard), have a look in /var/lib/boinc-client/stdoutdae.txt and /var/lib/boinc-client/stderrdae.txt to see if there's any useful info in those files. Additionally, have a look in /etc/boinc-client/ for the files cc_config.xml, global_prefs.xml and global_prefs_override.xml (all three should also be symlinked from /var/lib/boinc-client), to see if there's anything obvious in there that may be causing it. Additionally, if it's set up correctly, you should be able to remote-connect to it using the Windows BOINC client, and view the Message list via that. ![]() [Edit 1 times, last edit by Thargor at May 5, 2017 12:21:46 PM] |

Good morning all. Has anyone seen any increase in WUs available before the cloud migration? I would have thought that they would be rolling them out overa week or so rather than distribute in one giant rush.

Does work difficulty scale? When I started I was getting work that took 1.5 minutes, now the work is taking 35 minutes so I'm wondering if it gives you harder work if you're doing it too quickly.
