Good morning all. Time to take my iMac offline for a while so I can clean it thoroughly. Desperate measures! Just buy a Mac Pro Rod, or even better, a PC! You must be able to afford it, you're retired Evening all. Methinks that you have been reading too many newspapers [b[Dave who really have no idea about retirement income!. I actually think they reported that I should be £20 per week better off (than whom I ask?).When I sell my flat I have promised myself a Mac Pro with a 12 core Zenon CPU but until that time I have to maintain my existing equipment.After years and years of PC use I do not intend to go retrograde so I'll stick with my MACs for now.

Good morning all. My clean went very well and I am now up and running again. Having rerun the benchmarks they seem to have improved by 100% and CPU temperatures are down in the low 80s. I'm now waiting to see what (if any) performance improvements I get.

Have been keep an eye on the river-levels, today, and they did get quite close to flood-warning levels. Thankfully, where I live (although next to a river) can suffer quite a significant water-rise before it's a serious worry.
----------------------------------------The Boxing Day 2015 floods took that river level about 2.2m above flood-warning levels, and yet the river was still about another metre away from breaching the wall into my flat-complex's car-park. |
