Good evening all - I've been out all day so I have only just discovered that I have a shiny Ruby badge for SCC AND I have finally returned to my 10,000 points / day level - now to get the 28 day average up there!

Morning All,
----------------------------------------@Rod, glad your points are back under control. @Reduk, that's quite the server farm you've got now, how does the power consumption of the Foxconn compare to the AMD beast, guessing a little less than half? Project Team Points Top 40 in 2017 is still looking like an outside chance. This time last week we were going to catch SETI.USA in 196109 days now it's 290days! ![]()
cheers,

Good morning all - more news on the points / performance front. As far as I know nothing has physically changed with my set up of 3 Macs (apart from the fact that they are a few days older). My run time is consistent at around 130 days / week.
----------------------------------------How do you explain this? 02/16/2017 0:010:06:53:52 43,643 103 02/15/2017 0:017:18:42:35 71,334 184 02/14/2017 0:017:15:22:01 69,755 188 02/13/2017 0:018:13:58:39 62,342 185 02/12/2017 0:019:11:02:32 54,883 184 02/11/2017 0:019:05:16:17 43,196 146 02/10/2017 0:018:04:06:04 40,171 125 02/09/2017 0:019:14:30:02 45,554 132 Today's total for 12 hours crunching is higher than the total for 24 hours crunching on 10th and 11th February. It is not a question of PV jail as I consistently have around 17 - 20 results there Baffled of Santa Cruz

Rod, your crunching hours seem steady enough but the results total is higher as you say. You must have got a batch of those very short FAH units. I got a load of them 2 days ago, completed in 5 minutes each

@mac1.. both at 100%, the AMD is hungrier and would need to produce 25-30% more than 2 Intels to match their power efficiency

Just had a look at Dave's stats page and saw on the "Badges gained in the last week" page has 25 new badges of which 2 are for Zika, 2 for Ebola and 21 for Smash Child Cancer.

Not at all @crooks_uk, around 40% is produced by my DR site which would otherwise sit idle and as I'm paying for the power regardless, I figure I ought to use it. The other 60% is from a couple of dedicated machines, management servers and work stations. By far the fastest single worker is a 64 core AMD Opteron box I built specifically for WCG but the addition of the 2 Foxconns should equal that when they plateau and btw, once they've booted, are pretty quiet @mac! Thank you for the update. How many points per day does the AMD Opteron box produce as its sounds like a beast of a cruncher? My best workstation has two Intel 2687v3 CPUs making 20 cores (40 threads) with 224 GB Ram. I have let it stretch its legs this week with no 3D rendering, just 3d CAD modelling work though the day. Its best so far is: 02/11/2017 0:041:04:10:58 runtime 166,789 points 531 results
