Has anyone noticed that the BAM Stats have not updated for a couple of days? Other Stats web sites (which I suspect feed from BAM) such as Snurk (WCG signature ranking) and Free-DC have also halted (last return 02:51:11 on 27th February. The good news is that Dave's stats are bang up to date! Congratulations! I have no idea Rod why my stats site should keep working when bigger and better ones should fail. I would like to take credit for it, but frankly I haven't touched the code or the database for months, and so haven't got a clue. I will however, at some point, add the ability to do comparisons against non-active users, honest.

Morning team, well done Thargs, that's a lot of RT.
----------------------------------------Dell C6100 saga - another pair of processors turned up yesterday, so there's two nodes running now in my new low power c6100, hopefully they will show positively in the stats today. The last two pairs are winging their way from China, not sure when they will arrive but couldn't resist at £11quid a pair though With two nodes it's running at 46db with the meter 50cm away from the top of the case. I switched off two of the nodes in the old c6100 (to rob the hard disks) and my total power consumption went down at the wall from 1020w to 998w, which is great considering there's now another PSU to feed, cant wait to migrate all the nodes and switch the old girl off. The teams 'Planet 3D now' and 'Boinc Italy' are set to overtake us in 90days and 193days respectively, maybe we need a recruitment drive? @Tom your stats have shot up massively, did you buy MMJ's server or is it your water-cooled beasty?
cheers,

@Tom your stats have shot up massively, did you buy MMJ's server or is it your water-cooled beasty? Yes Andy, I bought the server. I have actually retired my 4 oldish PCs (and 3 tablets and a phone) which added up to 40 cores, and will just run the server (96 cores). Watch this space, I am buying another server next week... Dread to see what my electricity bills will be though. ![]() |

I'd love to run a big server, but 1KW constantly means approximately £1000/year in electricity just for WCG, which I just can't justify . I'd rather donate directly to some of my pet charities. I really do respect the efforts of you big crunchers though.

Good morning all.
----------------------------------------That's a serious leap in performance Tom Nuttall. I had hoped to overtake Mike Green before you overtook me but that looks unlikely now. Dave's stats say that I will overtake him in 98 days (if my average stays the same - although it is actually increasing rapidly at the moment!). You (Tom) don't fancy backing off for a while so that I can have my 5 minutes of glory? No - I suppose not. Ah well - my dream of a Mac Pro will have to wait a while and 24 extra cores would only give me 44 in total (provided none of my present incumbents go T*TS UP.
