Re: Good morning team

We had low 30s here yesterday and that was plenty warm enough for one day let alone having months of it. How do your computers not melt in to a giant puddle, RTS?

Probably MACs have better cooling. For instance the ambient temperature (as reported by my MAC) is 32C (8:36pm). And yes, I can hear the fans kicking in and out. I still seem to be keeping the CPUs cool enough not to choke (<100C) so something seems to be working OK.

Re: Good morning team

Computers will run a lot hotter than I can.
I'm just made it into the top 5000 for results, so I now have the full set. The signature is a proof of concept by the way. It'll get a lot better (or I'll give up, one or the other).

Re: Good morning team

Good Morning All.

Just sitting here watching the sunrise, the sky is clear and the birds are chirping (screaming in the case of the peacocks). Looks like it is going to be a warm one.

Dave I'll hold fast on my comments on your 'proto sig' until you develop further but it is a good start. If you do develop it further will you host the signatures too?

It's not supposed to be the finished article! I was just reminding myself how to dynamically generate PNG files using Java code (it's been over 10 years). It's generating nightly signatures for all the active Team UK members, but I can't imagine anyone else would want one. Hopefully, when it's finished there might be some takers but it's just for my own benefit really. Here's yours Rod, if you want it... smile

The URLs are just of the form "http://wcg.36arn.co.uk/sigs/WCGUSERNAME.png"

Re: Good morning team

Crikey, I wasn't expecting anyone to actually use my signatures Rod (at least not yet). Thanks for the vote of confidence.
Have a free upgrade smile
For the technically minded, it might not look much, but my proto-sig involves rendering text, drawing shapes and filling shapes, and loading, scaling and translating an image.
BTW, I have no idea why my stats server is imposing a 3.1 second delay when serving out pages. It's not so noticeable on the stats site, but it's pretty bad with the signature png files (which are coming from the same place).
