Probably MACs have better cooling. For instance the ambient temperature (as reported by my MAC) is 32C (8:36pm). And yes, I can hear the fans kicking in and out. I still seem to be keeping the CPUs cool enough not to choke (<100C) so something seems to be working OK.

Good morning all

It's not supposed to be the finished article! I was just reminding myself how to dynamically generate PNG files using Java code (it's been over 10 years). It's generating nightly signatures for all the active Team UK members, but I can't imagine anyone else would want one. Hopefully, when it's finished there might be some takers but it's just for my own benefit really. Here's yours Rod, if you want it...

Crikey, I wasn't expecting anyone to actually use my signatures Rod (at least not yet). Thanks for the vote of confidence.

For the technically minded, it might not look much, but my proto-sig involves rendering text, drawing shapes and filling shapes, and loading, scaling and translating an image.
BTW, I have no idea why my stats server is imposing a 3.1 second delay when serving out pages. It's not so noticeable on the stats site, but it's pretty bad with the signature png files (which are coming from the same place).
