How much beta work can we expect in this round? About 30 minutes ago, at the BOINC_v7.0.25 menu, I clicked Activity > Network Activity always available, and my machine started getting a stream of beta-GPU-WUs in that the machine always have 4 of them, and as soon as 1 or 2 done-beta-GPU-WUs report to WCG, I get a fresh installment of beta-GPU-WUs in return... It is raining beta-GPU-WUs here! ; I don't know when this beta-GPU-WU rain will stop, not that I want it to stop... ------------------------------------- edit1_2012.05.11Fr.2038.utc update: Rain clouds seem to have been all gone by this time. Seems like Round-5 beta-GPU is over. ; [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 11, 2012 8:38:25 PM] |

Again it's messing up the "to complete" time up on the cpu CFSW from 3 hrs to 12 hrs.
----------------------------------------I'm sure this was asked before but can something be done to sense between projects Edit I manually reserved 2 free cpu cores for the dual GPUs to speed up the processing time DistrRTgen does this automatically by reserving a free cpu core when the app is running [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 10, 2012 10:51:12 PM] |

Hi, I am new in GPU beta testing. What result of WU is expected? Valid status? And is this situation normal?

I thought in the beginning of the Beta GPU testing they sent out CPU Betas to check against the GPU ones...
Is that no longer the case ? |

Other than 4 error WUs getting a "All pipe instances are busy. (0xe7) - exit code 231 (0xe7)", my 5 Nvidia GPUs ran relatively smoothly.
----------------------------------------The one Radeon 5850 card is a different story. So far I have accumulated 16 invalids and 5 valids with the card. Few more inconclusives still waiting to be verified but I have a feeling those will turn into invalids as well. The card was overclocked at the beginning but as soon as I saw the first initial invalids, I immediately put the card back to stock. I even suspended the CPU tasks just to make sure the card had all resources for itself. Anyone else get a large number of invalids on their AMD cards? |

That wasn't the case for round 4 and I think it's the same for round 5. GPU tasks only. This was a nice run. Didn't get as many as round 4 this time but still good.

Anyone else get a large number of invalids on their AMD cards? I have a few invalids on my 5830s but they were all on 1 machine running XP-32bit. There were a few inconclusives on my Win7-64 bit machines but they all turned valid. I received some resends that were the 6th one sent but they all validated for me and 1 wingman. The other 4 were errors/inconclusives which I'm guessing ended up as invalids for them.
