Got two on my laptop running Windows professional XP SP3. Rebooted after about 25 minutes. Both correctly restarted from the last checkpoint. No issues here (yet).

Shut down BOINC and restart as well as restart Win7 and shut down Win7 and cold start. All wu's restart. Nice to see some Beta's for the sleeping CPU's.

Scenarios tested for 32-bit_Vista (2-betaWUs) / BOINC_v7.0.25, and 64bit_Ubu12.04 (4-betaWUs) / BOINC_v7.0.24, all with LAIM turned on:
----------------------------------------1] Shutdown after checkpoint and after proper BOINC and OS close. 2] Shutdown between checkpoints and after proper BOINC and OS close. 3] Shutdown before the first checkpoint is recorded after proper BOINC and OS close. 4] Shutdown without proper BOINC close but proper OS close. I can't break Want me to try improper OS close? ; [Edit 1 times, last edit by Former Member at May 25, 2012 1:37:04 AM] |

Timing is everything. Just happened to be at the computer when I saw a BETA show up. Managed to snag 1 for each core that I have running ATM.
----------------------------------------Wish the 2 RMA MOBOs would have gotten here today. (Yea, I know, I'm greedy. ) All looking good so far.
In 1969 I took an oath to defend and protect the U S Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and Domestic. There was no expiration date.

All I have to say is you guys sucked up these beta work units a lot faster than I expected. We have about 1500 results left to send. Glad to see everyone is doing well on these. Thank you for all the shutdown/restart tests.
andzgrid, you can test a hard OS shutdown if you want, I have tested this on my machine and did not see anything out of the norm. Thanks, -Uplinger |
