Pardon me for going off a bit here, but this feels like either fear mongering, or trolling at it's best. There are far far more pressing concerns regarding the flooding along the Missouri River than the nuclear plant. Overwhelmed and leaking levies protecting homes, and the people already flooded out for example. 100% agree. Just more anti nuke hysteria after what happened in Japan.
In 1969 I took an oath to defend and protect the U S Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and Domestic. There was no expiration date.

No Annie this is not fear mongering. We were afraid so we decided to go to all the information sources that were available to us.
There are many people who are being displaced and made homeless as the flood begins and apparantly will stay for months. We are very concerned for all of them, especially those who had no warning when their levie broke. That doesn't change that there was a fire with smoke reported from a flood-surrounded Nuclear Power Plant on Tuesday and there was NO news coverage. It took two days and calls to the local news (recorded) who didn't have anything to say except that the power supply was not in danger and the person handling that story is out. Then calls to the Nebraska Emergency Management Agency as reports are popping up all over the internet of a news blackout ordered by the US. Seems logical if you don't want the worlds best nuclear minds to all turn around in the room and look at you. Even Voice Of America is reporting that the US is under scrutiny from the International Atomic Energy Agency. I don't know what Troll means, but I do know where I can find an international network of intellegent, environmentally aware people that can give me feed back. And I have gotten one good link and I have learned something that has helped. It's really to bad that Brian Jennings' report on the Nightly News was cut-off. We need to know more, like what was done to repair the wiring? These are fair questions, we would like the answers that will help people in the area feel like they can make good decisions. We all have to come to our own conclussions Anne, mine was to do something. thanks for reading my post. |

Yup, it reads like spam and the quoted website is a joke. |

The website quoted was the International Atomic Energy Agency. I'm sorry that you don't see how that can be of interest to people who are seeking information on nuclear issues.
There are ways of saying things that are rude. I rarely blog here because I found that a good portion of the comments in the threads are quite cold. That is fine. I don't come here for social interaction. But seriously, if you just stopped by to be a jerk, then I do know what a troll is. If you have nothing positive to say, keep to your own threads. You just give WCG a bad name. I have disconnected my projects because it's too hard to solve problems without being treated like a nusaince or an idiot. This whole place could do with an infusssion of curtsey. It's not everyone, but enough that it't not worth the effort, there are other ways to be of service in this world without having to wait for the next sharp statement. It feels like high school, with a bunch of snotty kids walking by and making rude remarks. If you don't like it find something else to do with your time. I have friends in Nebraska and I will do what I like with my time. |

This is a youtube report. It is not sensationalist news, just a nice piece out of New York I think. If you don't see anything here that might make a nieghbor of the plant a bit curious for more info then you're not a nieghbor, but this still deserves an explanation as do the people of Nebraska. I didn't take the time to find the good pics. See CBS Evening News, they did cover it tonight. |

Your concerns are well founded, but i disagree dismantling projects because of a few fools--i being one of them--take it with a grain of salt!!Don't stick your head in the sand --come on be a big boy-- ![]() |

I don't know what Troll means.... Allow me to enlighten you. Troll: One who posts a deliberately provocative message to a newsgroup or message board with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument. http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=troll |

This is a classic example of the growing lack of analytical reasoning being replaced by ideologies (both liberal and conservative).
