RT, Thanks a million for all your help. The new machine is up and running. Somehow I assumed that 6 core ment it would run 12 WU's at same time! Not so but am able to over clock 3.33 to 3.66 so should be able to contribute some where around 20,000 more points. The AMD does not have HyperThreading like the I7 does. It will be interesting so see how much that puppy cranks out. I guess we could just count the number of a certain type of WUs that each type turns out in a day for comparison...or something like that. Congratulations; your tenacity paid off. ![]() Your 6 core AMD should produce the same amount of results as the I7 as the Intel uses 50% of cpu to run two WUs-- Good Morning from Virginia--finished working in Maine |

Snip Snip On another note: I've just submitted my very last undergraduate assignment. Three exams left then graduation, before I continue on to a postgraduate! Yippee! Snip Snip Stay safe everyone! Snip Way to go Blueprint. I "pinkie-swear" that you will never regret your decisions to acquire more education (well at least after you get those degrees). It pays off in many ways, and sometimes monetarily. Congratulations on your decisions. GOOOOOOOD Morning MOT Keith. As I said I lived there and do not always follow the British sense of humor partly because much of it is historically or culturally based; but when you do get it, it is usually quite funny. On the other hand, they did not always get my jokes either...so I felt like I broke even. well sorta.Hey Dubby. Are you going to visit us Texans now? By The Way, I now have 4 Ubuntu machines running (from an I7/870 to an atom netbook). Thanks Adywebb. We all miss Dave. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by RT at Nov 6, 2010 12:41:29 PM] |

Good Morning all Dubby, let me know for sure when you are going to be in Kingsland as I may be passing down that way (Austin) and we could drink some coffee and tell some stories. ![]() ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by RT at Nov 7, 2010 3:44:08 PM] |
