Re: Join The International Team

Yes, welcome back Kjetil!

Jack, hope the crown procedure went well! Good indeed to have insurance for such things!

I've been to a neighbour town today, looking at a new car (a Saab 9-3 SportCombi 1.9TTiD). It was all right. I really love the low noise at high-way speeds, because i can't stand that more of a higher-pitched noise from an under-dimensioned engine or road noise from the wheels if the rims are large and/or the car has crappy insulation.

Some people get desensitized after a while in noisy cars and stop being bothered after driving for a while - I, for one, do not! I believe I have some sensory overstimulation since I tend to perceive sounds, smells and tastes/food consistency in a very strange way. Food with the "wrong" consistency or taste quickly give a qualming reaction.
Not fun at all, has given me problems all of my life! :(

In the same way I easily get very tired/headaches when driving on highway in noisy cars. In the same way I cannot concentrate on work if i am listening to music at the same time (some variation in type of music of course, but generally speaking).

Therefore I really like the level of comfort in Saab cars. Never had one before, but since they are now going out of business there are a few left with greatly reduced prices. Still, they are expensive and now, having visited lots of car dealers and trying out lots of cars I am just too tired to go on like that anymore...and for each day I become more and more convinced of the fact that all car dealers are malevolent :)

No, but seriously - this whole car thing is driving me nuts! Trying to sell my old car as well and I can feel all my energy draining from mind and soul. Changing car is tougher than I imagined...

Flodisar,
I HEAR you totally about cars.
I have come to a point, where every month or so
start to look at what is new what is out...
This way when I finally decide it's time for new,
it's not so overwhelming.

Speaking of overwhelming, my I7 3770k is FINALLY running.
I had to unplug the HD completely, then install windows to the SSD.
I'm doing 120 windows updates, then I'll get WCG up and running.
I had paused the old I7 930, because i was going to use that,
changed my mind so lost a day of crunching...
Tonight I SHOULD have all 4 comps running smoothly.

I wish WCG would go to a points based system instead of runtime though...

Good to have you with me on the car issue! :)

Also, great that you have your new comp up and running!

Weekend now, right? Well, sort of only...in practice. But I shouldn't complain. Learning new and fun stuff, and by the way it is horrible weather outside anyway. Starting to feel a bit tired actually, perhaps I will watch a movie or something soon.

Good to have you back for good, Kjetil ;)

So I'm playing hooky from work to have it replaced today.

Re: Join The International Team

Good morning gang.
I don't get online much anymore although I do continue to crunch away.
Just wanted to pop in and say "HI" to everyone.
I'm getting married in a few months, but I'll still be crunching as much as ever.

Hope y'all have a great day. cool
