Just released 115 more work units but these are LARGE work units. Should still exit after 8 hours.

All said and done, looks like a total of 78 WUs for me. Only one bad WU in the lot.

Still, upgrading to a later client will most likely not solve your problem, since WCG has intentionally disabled all download-resuming, and AFAIK has also disabled upload-resuming Download resuming doesn't work for us because BOINC does not have compression built into it and a number of projects have argued that it should not be built into BOINC directly and instead should be added into each and every research application that runs on a BOINC project. I personally do not understand their argument but they have succeed in preventing this from being worked on. As a result, we have found a way to use some of the mechanisms that libCurl has built in (which BOINC uses for network communication) to deal with compression. Unfortunately, this causes us to be unable to use the file transfer restart logic since BOINC would attempt to resume the transfer based on the files decompressed size rather than the transferred size. So, chances are upload-resuming will only work if WCG sets-up a separate server only to handle CEP2-uploads, and can therefore use different server-settings to the other servers. Or, if WCG re-configures their existing servers... BOINC actually does support compression for file uploads so upload-resuming will work as it does across all BOINC projects. |

It does indeed, as has been observed many a time at WCG, as with CEP2, the upload resume.

I observed several upload errors (Temporarily failed upload ... :HTTP error) where the upload always stopped at 99.x% and was resumed at totally different positions ranging from 2% until 55%, but never more than 55%. The file size was nearly identical (about 62MB).

Finally got a Beta badge but am curious if there's any word when this project will go into production.

What I don't know is if there will be 22,000 jobs with two copies, i.e. 44,000 WUs, or if the announced 22,000 was already taking the 2 copies in account. Another way to look at how long it will run is by name. The betas seem to be coming in order. Prefix A.21 came yesterday and A.22 are coming out now. What's the final batch? Today I got a repair job for A20. Was it the first batch? There are no real batch identifiers. We have packaged multiple batches from the researchers into 2 batches randomly. We actually have stopped the 2nd batch from running as we still have unsent work units to run in the first batch. We are analyzing what has been run so far and sending results back to the researchers as well. -Uplinger Will the 2nd batch be used, or has it been decided you've got enough data from the first one? |

Results, CPU Years, CPU days for this test:
----------------------------------------MAY 28-10 4 0,00103 0,376 Including repairs this totals 11,809 results 8,83 CPU Years or 3,224.6 CPU days. Got 3 more lingering in PV, thus expecting to see hundreds more validating with the Friday noon stats... possibly extras going out in the coming days due no-replies. [Who knows will uplinger force out a 3rd copy for the MIA tasks :o]
