Re: Linux Only Beta Test

The 3333 if times 3 makes it nice 10k multi-day work available test... kind of more folk who will have that teasing urge to bite the bullet and convert to Linux, just to crunch.

Seems to be 6666. At least my WUs have quorum 2.

Re: Linux Only Beta Test version 6.16

The updated graphics code is invisible here after 41 minutes CPU time... all 4 have checkpointed. Was this by design?

The original code you for graphics was not linked to any science data before. This new one is...but it also has the checks for beta work units to hide things :) So yes, it was by design.

Re: Linux Only Beta Test version 6.16

There is an issue with the latest beta. The percent complete is computed incorrectly and if you get a longer workunit the percent complete could show over 100%. The new workunits will timeout at 12 cpu hours so it is best to let it run up to this time out even if the percent complete shows over 100%. There is not an issue with the run or results only the calculation of percent complete.

We will stop sending out any new workunits and will get a fix out and resume sending out workunits as soon as possible. Sorry for any confusion this causes.

Thanks,
armstrdj

Re: Linux Only Beta Test

We are testing an updated science binary, new graphics code, and decreased output from the user.

Nice. This version doesn't crash instantly when run on P3 and Athlon machines.

Edit: Spoke too soon. They seem to all end up Invalid.

Re: Linux Only Beta Test

Mine seem to finishing in around 4 hours, after initial estimates of 10.
The %complete on the last several all jumped from ~51% to 100%.

gray cells failing... should have remembered that the first CEP2 beta was quorum 2, init 2 :O)

First of 4 finished getting through all 16 jobs in the task for 3.64 hours:

BETA_ A.18.C13H9NOS2Si.4.2.set1d06_ 0-- Pending Validation 6/17/10 15:48:49 6/17/10 20:15:17 3.64 83.5 / 0.0

Ram about 125MB after 3.5 hours and VM sized at 367MB, but it seems to flux a bit as later it dropped to 280MB... disk space enough :D

Re: Linux Only Beta Test version 6.16

... of course, the smaller output file was 12.88 MB instead of some for the first test getting into the 72MB+... todos miggliores

Re: Linux Only Beta Test version 6.16

Eleven Linux mouths happily crunching Beta's. So far, two have validated and four pending with completion times ranging from 2.41 to 5.14 cpu hours and 11 more still in progress smile . Progress indicators were definitely off on the first completed WU's but each have completed all 16 jobs normally, so far.
