Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

you are right i only have about 2-3 days of pv right now.

i am also going for Silver not green... i am less than 15 days away so i figure by Saturday i should be there.

if no other project comes out i hope these last till a new projects comes out or till i hit gold (or both) once i hit gold on a project it shifts to my secondary of crunching a project to deciding what to best do with my few resources.

Right now i am recovering from a surgery and am basically on bed rest so i have endless time to tinker. oh and i have insomnia right now too.

I know there are alot more important things to worry about but when you cant do much ...

i am honestly hoping C4CW shows up soon cause that means CEP-2 is only a few weeks away from windows.

also up for more beta's. and i hear FLU-2 is out there somewhere sometime.. also hoping for many more projects.

personally i like the Solar project but am not going to spend the time converting to unix.

as for the backfilling its pretty easy how the server is set up if there arnt enough it will check again next hour and so on and so on by itself if there cache is set to a high number with only those tasks selected.

right now how DDDT-2 is setup and the feeder size for it.. unless you are doing some Hoovering it will be hard to make any badge (with this batch of rain) unless you have alot of computers.

Normally work keeps me busy enough that i dont micro manage BOINC/WCG but right before and for the days im on sick vacation after i tend to get into super micro managing. (but at least im not spamming the UPDATE button more than say right before stats updates if i am awake and at the computer.

honestly i wish there was another project i could concentrate on and not do my hoovering to get WU's and keep my cache low

and honestly i wish i could just get some sleep right now

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Realized I needed to look at my Quad since it was running in HP. I had to abort 149 WU (all 3.5 hr) to get it out of HP. They were obviously DL when the DCF was lo after finishing a bunch of the 1.25 hour Type C. When the DCF was lo, the original estimate of those WU would have been under 8 days. When the DCF was corrected after crunching the 3.5hr WU, these WU were corrected to account for over 22 days. I guess it would have been in HP laughing

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

I think they get loaded intermixed. But the B's get priority on the feeder. only 5,000 work units have been loaded as of now. Should be plenty of work still to come, not out of work just yet as the post above says.

-Uplinger

curious how many feeder slots do the other work units have... or if you dont want to say for whatever reason about how many total... I understand 5,000 for DDDT-2 Feeder or about ... im just curious

love the rain and just waiting for badges and other projects to open up

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Yeah, well spotted. Don't remember picking up more than 3 at a time on any system, and just went over a few logs.
Have not recieved any more DDDT2 tasks for a couple of hours.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

The 2 day [mixed] cache just decided to shrink quite a bit due some fast jobs completing (3 were RtR) and out the client went to backfill... 4 more of the highly sought after ... all *pr* :D

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Picked up about 10 this morning on a quad system, taking my cache to about 2days. I have a dual core that probably has about 3 or 4 days in cache, but that's the height of it.

- Just got 4 all at once :)
20/08/2010 14:22:45 World Community Grid Scheduler request completed: got 4 new tasks

This took my total tasks received tally to 1499. Before this flood I had 130 days. I'm now up to 235days, and 130 from green. I hope to half that before the next drought, but it is hard to micro-manage lots of systems and some run dry, unless I run other projects or annoy the servers at least twice daily for each system.

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Not certain what the concern is. I have picked up 24 pages of dddt2 WU since 00:00 GMT 20 Aug. Maybe too much micromanagement?
