Sek, did you see that knreed said "You can now upload files."?

Added comment about uploading.
edit for typo

dkt, ''you'' as in the "client(s)"... says nothing about 'handling' the client ;>)

et al, yes major hoggishness, were it not that the real sky is steel blue and that yellow plow is making it's daily move across in it's well known arc. Needing 8 more days to goldness, with 2.5 days in PV, thus 5.5 to compute and a pe about to be delivered for 25 hours :P

edit: muhaha... well not quite 25 hours, it finished:

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

Ran out of tasks on one (low cache) quad system that at the time it was only set to pick up DDDT2 tasks. The system is now running several projects. It might not be related to going dry, but one task had been downloading for almost 1h. It was at 100% progress but was still downloading, albeit at 5.88Kbps. Downloading said 17.5MB/15.95MB. I tried manual updates but did not pick up any work or finish the download, so I had to abort the download.
I expect this is the result of the servers being very busy, however it could indicate a server issue; communication is still a bit slow today. Perhaps connections are not closing correctly on the server.
The low download rate probably just represents the communication overhead, however if lots of systems are continuously trying to finish downloads it would slow the servers/routers down (a manual ping of death attack).

Re: It's raining Dengue, Hallelujah!

The latest flood is leading to several records... number of WU validated in 24 hours:

12th 4,306
13th 13,723
14th 18,013
15th 20,229
16th 28,434 < projected for Monday for approx. 9 CPU years

That will put the total validated to about 85,000 of the 250,000 there were ToDo and more being build per uplinger... had one (only one) in a 4 way science mix of last 25 received just morning... very low weight :|

This almost sounds like the server missed an interrupt and was not able to recognize that the download had completed.

Since the WCG-server doesn't handle download-resuming, in case a download is partially done and re-starts later, it will seems like the download continues from previous point, but in reality it will re-start at zero and continue so long past 100% as was already downloaded before.

So, if example downloads 5 MB of a 20 MB-file, and re-starts download, you'll download upto 25 MB to get the full 20 MB-file.
