In 1969 I took an oath to defend and protect the U S Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and Domestic. There was no expiration date.

New record

http://www.edfenergy.com/energy/power-station/daily-statuses

Nuclear free here we come smile

Running EDF UK reactor cores 7 of 15

Rest assured it will be the lack of Nuclear Power that will be blamed when the lights go out and not the 12GW of coal power stations that have been legislated out of business in the last 3 years.

Great PR for the new Nuclear build when the lights go out. You'd be forgiven for thinking it was deliberate. whistling

Good people of Planet Earth it's been fun being able crunch along with you around the clock to provide better knowledge for the benefit of Mankind

But those days are sorely numbered.

We in the UK will be shut down saving the Planet shortly.

I hope it's appreciated

All the best from the formerly Great Britain.

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

for the record

I have been asked why these reactors stop working after I have been to see them

shhh whistling

Combined output, including the 1/2 of Wylfa that is still running, got as low as 4099MW 17:40 on the 18th October 2014

One day it will be 0MW, hopefully soon

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

http://www.euractiv.com/sections/eu-prioritie...e-and-energy-ebola-309428

Agreed last night

EU leaders tonight committed by 2030 to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by at least 40%, and increase energy efficiency and renewables by at least 27%.

http://www.consilium.europa.eu/uedocs/cms_data/docs/pressdata/en/ec/145356.pdf

As compared to 2005

They do know that 2030 is only 16 years away and by that time to meet this requirement we will only be able to use 60% of the fuel we did in 2005 to keep warm, cook, wash, travel and fuel employment in all it's forms?

This can mean only one thing
