Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

I note there's a huge swell of media coverage that has recognised the lack of warming measured on land by thermometers so they have asked the scientists where the warming is

and the reply

It's in the Sea

Of course. If the Land isn''t getting any measurably warmer then the Sea must be.

Perfectly logical theory

laughing

Always put the warming outside of our experience and ability to measure

Here be dragons

The Sea Ice extent at North Pole is greater than last year

but also the numpty quotient of those genetically predisposed to gullibly taking unnecessary risks believing they can somehow change the World by walking with a boat along the north coast of Canada

Dear Électricité de France

I write on behalf of the UK Government to say that we have £10,000,000,000 of hard earned tax money we have extracted by various means from our Citizens which you can use to underwrite any loans you need to build, right on the coast, one of your fine Nuclear Power Stations, guaranteeing at best a 100,000 year nuclear waste legacy and at worst rendering our Country totally uninhabitable.

Yours Love and Kisses

George O (là là)
XXX

p.s. I've nearly sorted out the KWh rate you will be guaranteed to receive for the Electricity generated for the next 30 years - just as long as it doesn't go pop or the local rates of cancer cases can't be explained away. I'll get back to you as soon as we have a busy news day. Missing you already. No you hang up. Kiss kiss. George (again)

What a difference a year makes

The Arctic is a much more dynamic environment (Ice floating on Sea surrounded by land ) than the Antarctic (Ice overlaying Land surrounded By Sea Ice)

2012 is the thin tall one 2013 is the fat round one blocking the North West Passage biggrin
