Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Finally cool

July 2013 became the warmest July we have seen in the UK since 2006

It was as warm as the years 1701,1733,1859 and 1868

2006 was 1.4C warmer than 2013

With 2013's July being 2.3C warmer than the 1961-90 average it has almost filled the deficit of March's 3C below normal

Ignoring August, which always starts warmer than it closes, the year to date, despite the warmest July since 2006, is still 0.48C below average

"Very unexpectedly we ran into the ice pack"

"The planned crossings have not been possible because of the ice coverage and the danger of ending up in a soup of massive icebergs"

You have to feel sorry for them they have been told that Arctic would be ice free at this time of year and they have picked a really bad year for it. I just hope no-one loses their life over it. The only thing that both teams have highlighted are the dangers inherent in polar expeditions.

This year the north polar ice cap is stubbornly refusing to go away while the South breaks new records for it's (increased) extent

Is anyone ever going to stand up and say the World isn't warming as was previously claimed?

True, it is burning up in some places faster than expected.

And the resulting loss of Arctic ice leads to the increased evaporation that is giving Europe the big snows. Your progress should be in the direction of better cave designs.

In order to extract the brown coal from the ground this winter, RWE will cut down 3,900 hectares of the 12,000-year-old oak and hornbeam Hambach forest, leaving just 300 hectares in tact.

Oh Marvelous

Hitachi are twiddling their thumbs as they are unlikely to be building any more in their own back garden

Come over here and build some in ours, the more the merrier hugs

(note a modicum of sarcasm may be found in the text above <- note this note was also written with a modicum of sarcasm)
