Gotta love that graph of AGW abstracts. A hockey stick for sure!

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Harriscott - They lose all credibility in the argument when they say they are not getting enough exposure in the media (!!!!!!!!!)

There is only one side portrayed in the main stream media... Theirs

We're the ones saddled with the horrendous slur of "Denier"

Nothing to deny - the Climate Changes - it always has done.

It warmed up - it is now getting cooler again

That graph represents the fact

As a result of this fact is anyone in the main stream media claiming that Man Made Global Warming isn't happening?

Not likely.

It's a done deal, it's getting warmer, it's our fault and we are all doomed - that's the take home - endlessly - repeated message. With a myriad of observed impacts as a result of this ongoing warming presented day after day. Today fish, yesterday goats, springs earlier, birds abandoning migration etc etc etc

Except that isn't the reality of the temperatures measured in the graph above is it ?

It's been 10 years trending downwards ....and that's a fact. Absolutely no Big Oil or Denial involved whatsoever - just observational reality

They can take their 97% of "peer reviewed" papers and smoke 'em for all the good it does. Nice Hockey Stick [of funding] though laughing

I'll see your Computer Model (GIGO) and raise you with Observational Reality Mr Climate "Scientist" - any day of the week.

Fighting talk?
Definitely

Dave

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Remember how warm March 2012 was when compared with March 2013

as evidenced by the bump up you can see in this graph for early last year

NASA's GISS dataset has March 2013 warmer by 8 hundredths of a degree !

See http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/tabledata_v3/GLB.Ts+dSST.txt

Even by this most alarming of all data sets, during my lifetime temperatures have increased by 0.011 degrees per year and are now 0.24C below their peak seen in 1995

Terrifying isn't it? No

0.011C increase per year (11 Thousandths of a Degree) and currently trending downwards (so this figure is reducing year on year) is not the Climate Catastrophe it is made out to be

It's looking remarkably stable in even the most "corrected" of datasets.

I don't see boiling oceans in there (http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=1uxfiuKB_R8#t=116s)

Dave with those awkward facts again

Another new study, to be presented by U.S. Navy researchers later this week, warns it could happen in as little as 7 years.

Seven years from now.

Just 16 months left until Minima 2014 Mr Gore....

The Sun erupted with 3 X-Class Flares (X1.7, X2.7, X3.2) during a one day period starting May 13th 2013. It was crackling with more flares before & after the most powerful ones. Can you determine how many flares recently named sunspot AR1748 tallied?

Hi Gerald

More of that truth to counter Sekerob's claim that the Snow is disappearing

http://iceagenow.info/2013/05/snow-cover-sets-record/

You know just like claims the Siberia Permafrost is melting when we reach new record lows of -50C at Tiksi this winter

Today at Tiksi it got up to -11C http://weather.noaa.gov/weather/current/UEST.html

Somehow the permafrost is melting at these temperatures

Maybe physics just doesn't apply to Siberian Arctic Tundra biggrin

wink

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

From Geocraft.com:

Of the 186 billion tons of carbon from CO2 that enter earth’s atmosphere each year from all sources, only 6 billion tons are from human activity. Approximately 90 billion tons come from biologic activity in earth’s oceans and another 90 billion tons from such sources as volcanoes and decaying land plants.

CO2 is odorless, colorless, and tasteless. Plants absorb CO2 and emit oxygen as a waste product. Humans and animals breathe oxygen and emit CO2 as a waste product. Carbon dioxide is a nutrient, not a pollutant, and all life– plants and animals alike– benefit from more of it. All life on earth is carbon-based and CO2 is an essential ingredient. When plant-growers want to stimulate plant growth, they introduce more carbon dioxide

At 380 parts per million [Now 400 ppm] CO2 is a minor constituent of earth’s atmosphere — approximately 4/100ths of 1% of all gases present. Compared to former geologic times, earth’s current atmosphere is CO2- impoverished.

Total human contributions to greenhouse gases account for only about 0.28% of the “greenhouse effect” (Figure 2). Anthropogenic (man-made) carbon dioxide (CO2) comprises about 0.117% of this total, and man-made sources of other gases ( methane, nitrous oxide (NOX), other misc. gases) contributes another 0.163% .
Approximately 99.72% of the “greenhouse effect” is due to natural causes — mostly water vapor and traces of other gases, which we can do nothing at all about. Eliminating human activity altogether would have little impact on climate change.
