Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

May 2 update from the fastest-warming place on Earth: Alaska's "endless winter" continues; Porcupine River ice still more than 6 feet thick; even some dog mushers are complaining http://tomnelson.blogspot.com/2013/05/may-2-u...astest-warming-place.html

Disappearing Snow?

http://climate.rutgers.edu/snowcover/table_rankings.php?ui_set=1#namgnld

April 2013 32,199,000 sq kms

2,145,000 sq kms more than the average (very nearly an extra Saudi Arabia of Snow cover)

April 2013 ranks 9th out of the last 47 years.

If it's disappearing someone needs to give it a stern talking to because it's not following the hype

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Very nearly got banned at the weekend by the Guardian

For trying to make known the truth

The horror !!!! posting links such as

http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/hadobs/hadcet/gra...raph_ylybars_uptodate.gif

http://arctic.atmos.uiuc.edu/cryosphere/IMAGE...ly.ice.area.withtrend.jpg

http://www.ijis.iarc.uaf.edu/seaice/extent/Sea_Ice_Extent_prev_L.png

as they try to hype this http://www.esrl.noaa.gov/gmd/ccgg/trends/ up into 400ppm

Just as Summer on most of the land gets under way and the deciduous forests are waking up to suck 2% of that total out of the atmosphere just by sprouting leaves.

0.04% you see is much more terrifying than 0.039734%

But still practically zip

Posting links like those above to reality were removed because....

"This comment was removed by a moderator because it didn't abide by our community standards."

What? You mean making known the truth in the British Press !!!

Having a different opinion.... the outrage and in a civilised society as well. wink

You can't go around showing people there's an average amount of Sea Ice cover at the moment and that it's getting colder not warmer

That kind of thing will not be tolerated....

Eric Arthur Blair could not have been a better prophet.

What is the art form that is Journalism all about?

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

According to Wikipedia

Journalism is the activity or product of journalists or others engaged in the preparation of written, visual, or audio material intended for dissemination through public media with reference to factual, ongoing events of public concern. It is intended to inform society about itself and to make public, things that would otherwise be private

....apparently not at The Guardian. The suppression of the above and the promotion of some pre-agreed on unsupportable dogma is much to be preferred.

Check this out

In the comments section it's a massacre of reasonable thought by reasonable people by the Guardian

Just be thankful the ice is retreating

http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=BPH2_flByJM#t=68s

Imagine what it would be like if the ice was advancing across the land

Covering and devouring everything in it's path
