don't know if these guys have left commie or right wingnut views [totally irrelevant to me], but this is what it is:
------------------------------------------this should concern all of us as the extremes are hurting all of society--just a thought--some deep and some minuscule.

Is there a missing link here? I'm not certain what you're referring to.

Welcome to our crazy world Aussies hugs

http://www.climatechange.gov.au/government/in...nenergy_agreement-pdf.pdf

You too now have a fixed price to pay for air

"The carbon price mechanism will commence with a carbon price of $23 per tonne and will
rise at 2.5 per cent per annum in real terms.

The carbon price mechanism will commence with a three year fixed price period."

Congratulations
Commiserations

Dave

nah it's nothing to do with taxation what an absurd suggestion laughing

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

Here's the statement from the UK Budget 2011

Today we become the first country in the world to introduce a carbon price floor for the power sector. (we like being first - except in sport)

The price will start at around £16 per tonne of carbon dioxide in 2013 and move to a target price of £30 per tonne in 2020.

Your Government Labour ours currently predominately Conservative.

( flag Read Aussie currently Democratic, Poms currently Republican)

There's something above politics that is driving this and it is not to "Save the World"

Wouldn't it be interesting to see what would happen if the power industry decided to protest and just shut down for a day/week/month. thinking

Context was lost when the line I wrote was snipped, preceded by pointing at the snow analysis being done by Rutgers University of New Brunswick. One of the satellite temperature analysis is done by Uni of Alabama Huntsville. In another thread [think you made a post in it] there was the broad-stroke labeling of academics, their political views and leaning and the inferred influence that had on their studied subjects outcomes. It's 'wurst' to me, the polito views. Sciences outcomes get tested continuously and exposed soon-er or later. So happened a guy going by the name of William Soon was sooner exposed recently and [Prof] Edward Wegman later. Both committed beyond doubt academic fraud, ''Soon'' is though privately funded, so he's scott free, Wegman [of GMU] is a different story because he presented his 'Report' to the congressional climate commission of Joe Barton [GOP], on who's request Wegman made the report and wrote a now removed paper by the journal that originally published it. The scientists from whom Wegman ripped the pieces on a grand scale, have each protested loudly over the snip/copy/paste and distortive mixing and editing of their parts of publications. Oddly, whilst there were rushes to get Phil Jones and Micheal Mann investigated and vilified over the trick [see my winks in some of the charts I post], GMU almost a year later still has not done anything of substance about Wegman serious misconduct. USA Today carried the news on this in May 2011 as from then it gotten quite noisy... and this time the scientists are not letting it pass after having endured years/decades of the McCarthy style witch hunting.

edit: inserted "outcomes"

Re: Not sure how much longer they will be able to keep crunching in the UK

There is the "Climate Crock of the Week" series by Peter Sinclair of the Greenman blog exposing one or the other "Ain't True", but there's also asite by that name who carry a too brilliant cartoon [IMNSHO], too big in depth to post directly: http://climatecrocks.com/2011/07/10/ignorance-an-inexhaustible-resource/

Enjoy, particularly the funpack department.

PS: Profuse apologies, GeraldRube, but your last name, if it is yours, popped up in the cartoon. Pure coincidence, not being a Chevy connoisseur.

edit: Well Merriam-Websters explains what a Rube is... who'd thunk. How far the line "It doesn't work well in Japan or Sweden, but in the U.S. the mileage is Amazing" is separated from the truth I could not tell... it's an American cartoonist.
