Re: smilesmile Join "MyOnlineTeam" Today - Chapter 36 smilesmile

Stupid, I am!
I started the build on the 2 card machine. I went to snap in the I/O shield into the case and promptly slit my index finger open on it from the second knuckle to the tip. The top edge is not knurled like it should be and is sharp as a scalpel. And a fine job I did too. Blood all over the MoBo, heat sink, empty PCIe slots, table and carpet. Everywhere!!
By the time I got the bleeding stopped and the finger bandaged the blood had dried on the MoBo. If anyone is interested. Since Newegg does not sell “Motherboard Blood Remover”, an entire box of foam q-tips and isopropanol works well albeit a quite tedious job with a bandaged finger. I usually name machines DM1 through DMx. If this one works, I’m going to name it “Bloody Mary”!
Stupid and careless, I am! Another reason I hate hardware.
Do you make house calls Dr Mike? laughing
I’m going to bed now. Tomorrow is another opportunity for me to be STUPID and careless!!! angry

Really sorry to hear you had that kind of an accident. Hope you got the cut cleaned as well as the MoBo. You sure do not want an infection to start under the healing. sad

Yep, soaked it in hydrogen peroxide and let it bleed for a couple of minutes, then pressure to stop the bleeding and then a butterfly and a bandage. No big deal. Truth be known, in my youth I probably did more damage trying to shave with a massive hangover. biggrin It's the bandage that is a pain. It is deep though and will take some time to heal.

...We need a map of the milky way in case I ever need to navigate it. cool

OH NO! Don't tell me you stop and ask for directions! laughing

I'm hoping that once it's mapped, they will upload it to my GPS.
I am one of those that will never stop and ask for directions!
The last time I did stop (the very last time, BTW), I was looking for a wall mart. I stopped at a chevron station and asked the most attractive girl I could find where wal mart was. She walked outside in the parking lot, point south, and said that it's right there. It was next door!
Never again will I ask for directions!

I would if there was any to send. biggrin 103F here in the extreme southwest corner of Silicon Valley. Expecting 104F here tomorrow.

At 8 PM it's just under 90F now... perfect for an evening dip in the pool.
