I don't know how you people stand the heat these video cards produce.. it's ridiculous.  In 90F weather, I can scramble eggs on these GPUs.Fans ... big floor fans.   But between 15:00 and 19:00 it does get miserable.   |

Hmmm .... we're really going to have to get moving if we intend to hit the 1,000 post mark before the end of the month.
Different subject - is anyone else caught up in the latest CEP mess? There is a large number of WU's ending with Error status after hours of crunching. To compound the problem, the Error WUs are resent and waste time on 5 or 6 other machines. This was responsible for my dramatic reduction in points yesterday.... worst total since Jan '08. And it's not like I can withstand a 3000+ point drop unlike some of our big contributors. - D |

One of the weather underground stations nearby is already at 98F. As far as YoYo, Milkyway or GPUGrid for that matter, I'd diversify if I had the resources to do so... I've got plans, but I have to get them approved by the "CFO". - D |

I Like Windows 7!
----------------------------------------Please record this for posterity as the only other time I have said this was when Windows 3.11 was introduced. The install was quick and easy, it boots/runs noticably faster and is less cluttered. I did a clean install of the 64-bit version from Vista 32-bit. The basic functions are the same. The only problem I had was my virus company only supports it if I buy their 2010 product (2010??? Did I miss something? ). I grabbed a free version of AVG at CNET. I am running some Milkyway wu's on it to see how it crunches. I can't do GPU on it until I put a card in that machine.***** HOT!! @ Darth: Is that the Chief Female Officer of the household? It sure is. She agrees in principle - she uses the home systems far more than I do - but the devil is in the details. Hot here as well. All the nearby weather stations are reporting between 103F and 105F at 2:30. - D |
