Re: The Help Fight Childhood Cancer Crunching Chart

Yes I know it seemed like a real moan when in fact it was meant a bit more light heartedly, I needed to use a smiley there. blushing Still the project end coming in by four months is a bit of a jump!

30 days left should mean I get an emerald badge, so I'll be content. I will never be a mega-cruncher with just two machines, but set myself a target of Sapphire on all projects I participate in after the badges were introduced. Epic fail here. crying tongue

Re: The Help Fight Childhood Cancer Crunching Chart

... those with powerful computers should already be well on their way to achieving their next badge level. If not, why not? - weren't you watching the estimated end date?
Yes I have been watching the chart. It jumped from 57% to 91% all at once. Then a few days later an announcement that there was less than 30 days left. I was going to make it to 2 years based on project completion in August-September, now I won't. I needed 54 days to get there. I'm working on getting more CPU power on my team and I've gotten it down to 36.5 days. I'll keep looking. praying

Cheers coffee

Re: The Help Fight Childhood Cancer Crunching Chart

As the projects draws rapidly towards an end, yesterday we passed on the brink the 25,000,000 results validated.

And, today my laptop is working on a veritable monster. Checkpointing normal every 6-7 minutes, it's after 22 CPU hours only at 60%. The task number is 2425280 without a wingman assignment. Maybe the logic will mark it as Inconclusive and has a verification job run, it being so far out of the range

Happy crunching, for the one who catches it if it will ;O)

Re: The Help Fight Childhood Cancer Crunching Chart

Have myself run across at least one 20+ hour WU on one of my very fast computers which was quite a suprise as would expect them on my old slow computers but not my i7 3.33 mghz one.

Turned out to be big with a friendly assessment at that, zero redundancy :D

Re: The Help Fight Childhood Cancer Crunching Chart

With the formal post by the research's primary investigator, see http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org/forums/wcg/viewthread_thread,29186, the progress in the performance chart has been set back to 60% for 3 targets, which hopefully also makes it clear that the coming work will be running without a phase number increment and no prefacing beta, AFAWCK.

Will update when production resumes.

NB: Of course, ad interim, we crunch other sciences at World Community Grid... currently 4 fully active and more in the pipeline :O)

Re: The Help Fight Childhood Cancer Crunching Chart

And away we are, 5,000 validated in the first 12 hours, surely a multiple done this afternoon.

For the moment have reset the progress counter to 50% of now 6 targets overall. Will recalibrate when we know batches or compounds for this target, n1, target 5 starting at 66.7%

Crunch ON.
