Thanks,
The question-s were answered...The Points problem is no problem.... . I wrote the following THEN I re-checked the points help page! Either I missed that when I read it days ago or they recently added what follows the line of ****** . But, The answers on the points help page still do not address this 'problem'. . IF WCG stated the two following things on the points help page, it would have answered the quetions I had regarding the points. . 1. If they stated the 7 to 1 point spread exisits. 2. If they stated that United Devices points are different than the points gained from Boinc/WCG. . It may help to mention due to time differences between the client and the server makes it hard to 'verify' points 'immediately'. Which I was tried to do, for the first time since I ran United Devices. . They do 'hint' at that by stating the update times. Clients do not update at the same time as the server... (no duh, I should've known.) . Recently... I used a watt meter and running it on each system uses about 20 watts more per hour per computer. . To reduce the amount I have to get from the power company when my usage exceeds my production, I have turned off some of the clients,. I hope to get back to zero or even a negative usage from the electic company for ALL my usage including lights, Refig's and computers. I like Edison owing me money.. . Thanks to those who gave me accurate answers, You know who you are. Sorry for not looking back and naming you... ![]() ******************************************************** Quote from points help page! Which like I said above either I missed this or they recently added it. . Points on agent and web are different World Community Grid in the past ran two types of agents. A United Devices (UD Windows) agent and a BOINC (Windows/Linux/Mac) agent. Today, World Community Grid only runs the BOINC agent. Points contributed by both of the agents will be part of a members total on the website. However, only points contributed by BOINC agents will be shown on the BOINC agents. The points previously earned by a UD agent only appear on the website. Additionally, due to differences in how the agents computed points, BOINC points are multiplied by 7 when they are imported into the website. Thus if you earned 5 BOINC points, you will see 35 Website points. . *** Looks like they fixed it by having the info now shown!! ** (If it was already posted and I missed it... I think someone would have copied and pasted it within the first few responses.). If they want to add (for the dummies like me ) to mention that all clients update at different times than the server. Great too... Thanks for clearing it up. ![]() |

Hi Barney. Please direct your complaints to Berkeley. Didactylos, On second thought, I'd gladly file my complaint with Berzerkley but... I'm sure they are more interested in figuring out how to make POT grow faster ![]() |
