WU says it is running, but ...
... I'm not seeing any CPU time accumulate and time to completion is not decreasing. Tried to get work from other WCG projects but haven't received any. Other projects (climateprediction.net for example) are working.

BOINC 6.4.5 for Vista 64 bit. AMD dual core, 3GB of RAM.
Processor: 2 AuthenticAMD AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5600+ [AMD64 Family 15 Model 67 Stepping 3]

That was 10 minutes ago. The messages window says the job is running, but nothing is showing up for CPU usage.

Any ideas?

This is a known problem with BOINC 6.4.5.

Don't use BOINC 6.4.5 - we don't recommend it. We offer BOINC 6.2.28 instead.

I have the same problem. I currently run four workunits (HCC, HPF, and two times CEP) but only one of the CEP workunits is running, the rest works as intended. I already aborted one CEP workunit and got another one, but it still isn't running (it is according to the BOINC client, but according to the task manager it isn't).

This is on Windows XP SP3, an intel quad core and BOINC V6.2.28 (downloaded from WCGrid)

This started before I upgraded to 6.4.5. I got the latest version to see if it would fix the issue. In fact, 6.4.5 is installed on a 2nd 64 bit Vista machine I have, AMD quad core, 5 GB RAM and is working there just fine.

I'll abort the stalled WUs on the problem child and just let the other projects I'm subscribed to run. Then I'll check back with WCG in a few days, get some new WCG work and see what happens.

Please post all the messages from the messages tab.

Don't use BOINC 6.4.5. If you do, we can't easily tell what is caused by that, and what is caused by something else.

Here is the message set from 6.4.5, even though you don't want me to run that version, it is the one that is currently installed. I won't be able to revert to a previous verison for a day or two.

I appreciate the assistance. I don't see anything in the messages that indicates a problem. The task starts, says it is running and nothing is happening. I don't see CPU activity on my monitor program either.

I'm having the same problem here. I already crunched some CEP-workunits and everything worked fine. But every workunit I get right now just won't start even if I abort it and get another one instead.

I'm using BOINC 6.2.19 and didn't change a thing.

I am also having this problem. It only just started.

It was running as normal and then as each of the WU running on my quad core finished it just stalled on the start of the new WU's

i have the same problem.
i am running a phenam x4.
installed boinc for the first time.

going by some replied to this thread, i down graded boinc to 6.2.19

i even tries resetting the the project
