The point is not whether 6.4.5 or 6.5.0 are the problem. The point is that both versions are UNSUPPORTED, and unsupported should mean that if you have a problem using unsupported software then don't bother reporting ANY problems. I guess you mean any problems with BOINC, which I certainly agree with. However, if it is a problem with the project (such as the current CEP problem), then it is not a BOINC problem, and so is able to be reported. |

I experienced the same general symptoms with clean energy task E0000 48_261A000C24009_8; I discovered that I had been processing for 44 hours with 20 hours remaining and completion was stuck at 65.250%. I exited Boinc Manager and restarted and achieved no benefit. I then restarted my computer and the error cleared itself but now time processed dropped to 3:33 and time to completion dropped to 2:14 and percentage completed began to increase from 65.650%.
Obviously the problen is solved but the error caused me to lose about 40 plus hours of cpu time. Hopefully this helps and it tells me to be more attentive of all my cpus running Clean Energy. bill |

I was WRONG; the task completion percentage advanced to 65.625 and once again froze and restarts did not help. I am aborting the task and accepting the loss of over 44 hours of cpu time. Bill

I tried "Update" to see if it was automatically canceled, but no luck. Yes, there are actually a long list of bugs in CEP that have been popping up since the start. However, starting with batch 125 (?or maybe 126?) all the work units seemed to have this particular error. Lawrence |

This is a known problem with BOINC 6.4.5. Don't use BOINC 6.4.5 - we don't recommend it. We offer BOINC 6.2.28 instead. I was running 6.2.28 when I noticed a work unit hanging. It was already at double the runtime as it originally claimed to be, and it was adding time to teh unit as it crunched instead of subtracting it. I aborted it. I can see this one has had problems. The one person who completed it is at around 40 hours. It has been resent, and not answered, and now is waiting to go out again.
