Be advised, I have no idea why BOINC is indicating that my operating system is XP. Is is actually Vista Home Premium, service pack 1.

Re: Beta Testing for upcoming project application

Not really on topic, but it's glossy XP and seen 1 or 2 reports before. Upgrade of OS or copy of client from XP to Vista machine?

Re: Beta Testing for upcoming project application

No, it was not an upgrade (that I know of). It is an Acer, and Vista was on it when I purchased it. Yes, it is off topic. I just posted it so you would know the Beta WU was crunched with Vista, and not XP.

Even though this thread was orriginally about the beta WU, it was slightly highjacked when I mentioned I was operating under Vista and not XP. Just so you know, this problem was fixed when I upgraded to 6.2.28. It now shows:

11/28/2008 2:21:17 PM||Starting BOINC client version 6.2.28 for windows_intelx86
11/28/2008 2:21:17 PM||log flags: task, file_xfer, sched_ops

11/28/2008 2:21:17 PM||Data directory: C:\ProgramData\BOINC
11/28/2008 2:21:17 PM||Running under account boinc_master

Re: Beta Testing for upcoming project application

It is for the next project.

You didn't miss seeing anything, though. New project betas are sent out without graphics.

And, if you blinked, the WU was completely crunched before you knew it.
