Re: 6.2.28/BOINCLOGX

What OS are you running on?

Also, what version of LOGX are you running?

Can you post some of your boinc logs to the thread?

Is the manager located on the same machine as the boinc client?

Re: 6.2.28/BOINCLOGX

Hi Uplinger.
O.S is Windows XP home ver 2. One AMD4800. BOINC LOGX ver 1.52.
D/L WCG 6.2.28 on Nov 25 from 5.10.45 twice. All I noticed was message in LOGX Monitoring display at each D/l of 6.2.28 was -contact lost with client-.
LOGX was fine under 5.10.45. Reverted to 5.10.45 after these adventures and LOGx is fine.
Logs for 6.2.28 seem not to exist anymore, there was no error message that I saw except for brief note in LOGX as above.
Thanks for your help.

Re: 6.2.28/BOINCLOGX

BoincLogX does not use the BOINC add-on mechanism. Instead, it relies on snooping into the files BOINC uses as it runs.

The added security in BOINC 6 clearly prevents this from working.

Take it up with the BoincLogX author. Berkeley simply don't care about backward compatibility. Either use an old version of BOINC, or get the author to update BoincLogX.

Re: 6.2.28/BOINCLOGX

Have mailed to the LOGX forum asking for update to LOGX, so will have to wait and see.

Re: 6.2.28/BOINCLOGX

One Pelican,

Didactylos seems to be down the right path. I have dealt with the back end client for BOINC and it has changed the behaviour that the responses from the client are with the 6 BOINC client. I have not had time to dive into the 6 client. I hope that the LOGX folks can put out an update for you as the 6 client for BOINC has some nice changes involved in it.
