graduated from the speedy course given dvd key ring and pen these should ensure my complying with 30mph limits huh? Is it me or do's it seem that there is an air of patronising going on with all in authority these days?. It would seem the law is one sided too! I have tried all my life to be an upstanding law abiding citizan yet all around I see politicians 'fleecing' the system, coppers crying compensation for hurt feelings, traffic wardens hiding waiting to pounce like predators on some poor soul trying to park their car, Royalty behaving like spoilt kids, Teachers doing everything but teaching, and morons telling us what we can or can't do with our children who mean time run riot!. It's time for common sense to be brought back and for the young to start listening to and respecting their seniors again. May be a few 'hard times' will jolt the Nation off it's a*se, get it to roll up it's sleeves and do an honest days work and bring us back to the real world. In the words of a great President, "Ask not what my country can do for me but what I can do for my country" Come on Britain lets put the GREAT back!!. Old Cynical Sage ![]() |

Evening all
My working units dropped off the line last night despite no break in the Internet connection. Kick started them again when I got up this morning but probably lost eight hours of crunching. This is really just to say Captain, I wasn't slacking - honest! Cold here too and forecast to get colder with snow promised in the next couple of days. Keep warm folks. |

In the words of a great President, "Ask not what my country can do for me but what I can do for my country" Come on Britain lets put the GREAT back!!. Please excuse the intrusion from a non-team member, but I just could not help but respond to this one (I tried to resist). For a moment there .... I thought you were talking about the United States. We have most of the same issues, except celebrities are our royalty. The presidential quote to which you refer is "Ask not what your country can do for you; ask what you can do for your country." and was spoken by the same president that famously said "I am a jelly doughnut". But I've always preferred "We choose to go to the Moon and do the other things not because it is easy but because it is hard". Personally, I blame everything on the lawyers .... - D |
