LOL Tuxnl, you're bringing back memories.
----------------------------------------My first home file server was a 486 VLB machine with two SCSI controllers driving five or six SCSI drives in two external enclosures. I think the largest of the drives was a "huge" 1.9GB. That collection of parts is still down in basement with the rest of my computer "graveyard". I also had two P6-180 computers, one crunching with UD under win95/8, and the other running SuSE 8.0 or 8.2 as a firewall computer. That firewall lasted 24/7 for over seven years before the power company bounced it one time to many and fried something I couldn't fix. The cruncher was also great at producing results, for it's day, but as you mentioned, they just aren't up to todays WUs. I'm currently running SuSE 10.2 on two servers and two play(work) stations. I actually have two additional SuSE machines, but I've been too lazy to replace the "what's that smell" and "cool sparks" power supplies. As for a Dutch Tux, you'll probably have to gimp that one, changing the black to blue and the yellow/orange to red. should be interesting. ---------------------------------------- [Edit 1 times, last edit by jal2 at Aug 1, 2007 12:13:00 AM] |

To littlepeaks, tuxnl, jal2 and others.
----------------------------------------Since challenges are a team business I would assume that they follow the same rules for points as for teams. So all results which have a return date of 2007/08/01 in your Results Status page will count for the team you belong to at the end of that day, and hence for this challenge if your team is Christians or DPC. Cheers. Jean. |

Lonnie has been an old friend of all the UD Crunchers - a well known member of
----------------------------------------Base Camp (I am a Member also but never contributed as much to other teams as Lonnie did.) Mike and Lighthouse were huge contributers also. Base Team is a Team whose members wander and "guest" at different teams which need help during the year. I've started to write members names but I'm so afraid I'll leave people out, that I'll ask them, please, to step right up and make their name be known: It was wonderful and we should do it again. At UD we had a remarkable leader who gave us badges for our service. Keeper of the Badges, the Honorable TLD knows every one! Isn't that a lovely concept? I was concerned but then while scraping my face with a sharp blade or 5 this morning God just brought to mind the words from Isaiah 40:31 I'll be back Dave ![]() |
