Re: Just Like Old Times Re: Christians are giving... come give with us!

I have a couple of questions about the "Mow Down" because we've never done it before.

1. What time does it start. Is it midnight local time, zulu, or something else?

2. Can we complete most of a humongous work unit before it starts, and turn the PC off, then turn it back on a few minutes before the starting gun? biggrin

Re: Just Like Old Times Re: Christians are giving... come give with us!

Team exciting news!! BOINC has a new version upgrade 5.10.13 and it is really cool!

My benchmark is higher...there is more things to play with lol, and it just is cool to switch the view putting it in Accessible, Grid, or Simple and seeing the differences.

When you go in the preferences under advanced, the changes you make show up like really quick in the messages! wOOt!!

Really nice :-)

I know I get excited, lol but I've been waiting for the BOINC message that the new upgrade is available and tada! It shows up!!

I'm sure there is more I haven't found yet...it will be fun finding all the nooks and crannies biggrin

Re: Just Like Old Times Re: Christians are giving... come give with us!

This is an unofficial announcement: This version is not WCG endorsed, repeat, This version is not WCG Endorsed! It's part of the strategy to let you upgrade to a release that has 'undefined' problems, whilst the DPC goes on a Mississippi radar boat to greener pastures.... LoL

(where did you see that BOINC message Diana, as you are the second one .... did you see it in the client or on a web post? WCG still provides 5.8.15 on the download page)

I got that message too Sek - it was under messages in the client - but I'm sticking with the latest WCG approved version as it seems to be working fine.

Re: Just Like Old Times Re: Christians are giving... come give with us!

hmmm warrants 2 questions:

1. Attached to a BOINC Account Manager?
2. Attached to WCG only or more projects?

searched all my logs for several machines, but no advise. Can any of you retrieve it from stdoutdae.txt or stdoutdae.old

many thanks

1. No, not connected to a BOINC accounts manager.

2. Sek, I only run WCG. Here is the log:

Re: Just Like Old Times Re: Christians are giving... come give with us!

If you done it and does not balk, keep it, but 5.10.13 is be far gold.... seen 5.10.14, 15 and 16 all come out within days and 5.10.17 might be in the making.

That processor name looks funny.... Sempron .... from Tizio, Caio e Sempronio (Tom, Dick and Harry). "Sempre" means "always".

Ciao
