Re: Gold Silver Bronze

There is a 6 hour update now, so uploading/downloading may not happen until later. See the News. (finished)

Research:
FightAids@Home is 99% complete, so if that is the only project you are working on, watch carefully to make sure you have something to crunch after it ends. Consider adding another project to your work for a smooth transition. If you are close to a badge, I hope you get it.

Total Run Time (y:d:h:m:s) (Rank) 775:292:07:29:23 (#118)
Points Generated (Rank) 865,882,123 (#117)
Results Returned (Rank) 1,701,220 (#114)

Results improved by one rank since I posted it on April 26. It is ranked over the entire output since 2004, so it takes some effort to move it.

I didn't realise that Clean Energy WU were thin on the ground, but then I've not been hanging around the forums as much this last year. Job promotion = new level of busy. I've been getting a steady stream on the machine I've detailed to do CEP/UGM. About a 50/50 split of units.
If you were running ONLY Clean Energy it might be at 100%, but it is an intensive computing project. Maybe or maybe not. Each unit also takes a lot more time to complete. Anyhow...OET is moving up fast in my badge level now.

Re: Gold Silver Bronze

I'm off Clean Energy at present. Trying to make a final push on FAAH, I'm giving it a go to see if I can hit 10 years, but it's doubtful. I reckon I'd need around 3 weeks of solid FAAH WU's beyond the estimated date at the beginning of June when there'll be only repair jobs available.

Oh well, it won't be the first (or last) badge I fail to hit by a few weeks, unless I win the lottery and can afford to build a multi cpu monster that puts Mr Kermit in the shade.

better hurry ..... current estimate is that the last new FAAH unit will be sent out around June 4, plus 2-3 weeks of resends after that. I have 5 years for it .... no way to get 10 years.

Re: Gold Silver Bronze

Well, I did indeed fall short of the 10 year target. I needed another 11 days of solid crunching when the new units ran out, so I called it a day and started working on getting 10 years on the other ones. I think MCM will be my first to hit 10 years now.

Once I got 2 years of the older projects I will work more on MCM and just went over 3. If I get 5 by the end of August I have a good shot at 10. (14 cores running now) There's only 20% left now and they forecast a Nov 2015 finish. I will be out for 3 weeks in August. It helps with that research tab at top, so we can see roughly what's going on and how much work is left for each project.

MCM is 88% complete and is scheduled to finish in November 2015. Keep at it to get that ten years in time. I am close to 5 there and will try for it myself. The research tab gives estimates, and is a help for crunching plans.

Re: Gold Silver Bronze

With 10 years of MCM and FAAH in the bag I'm now aiming for 10 on OET and then CEP2. I'm not expecting UGM to come back online soon, they wouldn't have gone to the trouble to move it out of active projects in so many different places if it was only going to be down for a week or so.

Hopefully I'll have OET at 10y before UGM restarts which will then give me a clear run at that one without having to keep an eye on what's happening with the other projects end dates.

I do have a slight worry though that the loss of UGM will hasten the end of OET as a lot more units will be used each month than would otherwise have been the case. Bearing in mind that both MCM and FAAH are on borrowed time with only a couple months left, it could see us down to one project before Christmas if here any hold-ups with the current beta tests.

Uncovering Genome Mysteries - temporarily out of new work

They moved it to intermittent because they will run out of work soon if they haven't already. The scientists probably got caught by surprise. They are preparing more, but have no time estimates.

Anyone: If you are only working on UGM, you can leave it there, but should add another project in the meantime.

I just picked up 5 years for MCM and was ready for more UGM. It is ready to go whenever anything happens. True, OET will probably run faster, but that's what I am doing, plus an occasional beta and Clean Energy.

Re: Gold Silver Bronze

Oooohhh, I've just been checking up on my machines. They snagged a beta or two last night. Using my enhanced digital calculator (the one where I take my socks off) I've estimated that I might have just enough to get a green beta badge this weekend. biggrin

I'm not sure I'll live long enough to see a blue one beside my name though. At the current rate of new projects and betas that'd probably take another 100 years. laughing
